Richard A Roworth Photoblog: October 2008
http://roworth.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Richard A Roworth Photoblog. Thursday, 23 October 2008. I have been a little quiet lately, this is because I am working on two new websites. This website is resource for all who are planning on walking Alfred Wainwright's 190 mile coast to coast walk. It lists accommodation along the route including campsites, camping barns, hostels, pubs and B& Bs. There is also an account of when me and the Missus did the walk earlier this year. I hope to have it completed by December 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Richard A Roworth Photoblog. Wednesday, 24 March 2010. Victory for Photographer's Rights. Myself and two others recently wrote to Dorset For You expressing our disgust at its rights grabbing photography competition,. For you – Share your photographs of. This was in response to the competitions terms and conditions which were unethical towards the photographers who were entering (all too common with photography competitions). I received a reply which you can see below;. Http:/ www.pro-imaging.org.

splendid isolation: A game of two halves
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/a-game-of-two-halves.html
Wednesday, 22 July 2015. A game of two halves. Last November saw me and Andy head for Victoria Bridge with a view to engaging with a portion of the Black Mount. As far as I know the term/description also encompasses Meall a' Bhuiridh and Creise, which had definitely been a 2014 hillwalking highlight. So it seemed worthwhile to familiarise ourselves with the other end of the collection. To return to the point of the post, what happened in November 2014 was that we decided at the summit of Stob a' Chore Od...

splendid isolation: Beinn Fhada, or Ben Attow
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/beinn-fhada-or-ben-attow.html
Monday, 13 July 2015. Beinn Fhada, or Ben Attow. Or, that big hill right. At the furthest away end of Glen Shiel. As I said to Andy earlier today, if I hadn't had Molly in the car, I'd have been sorely tempted to turn around about 15 minutes before I arrived at the start point of the walk in Morvich, and head home. The last section of the drive was purgatory - even allowing for the fact that I was taking a sneaky Thursday off work, thanks to a half decent weather forecast. Gosh, it was slow. She was on t...

splendid isolation: A' Ghlas-bheinn
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/07/a-ghlas-bheinn.html
Tuesday, 28 July 2015. Regrettably, when fine tuning the oeuvre for publication, I pressed the wrong * * ing button and lost it all, so youse are getting some photographs instead. This hill is adjacent to Beinn Fhada. I mentioned that one a few days back. For A' Ghlas-bheinn, the route lies straight ahead, and it's an impressive path that cuts across the hillside, proceeding into a steep sided gorge which eventually leads up to the Bealach na Sgairne. But you soon get there anyway. It's a bit more substa...

splendid isolation: Mount Battock
http://www.weeblackdug.co.uk/2015/08/mount-battock.html
Sunday, 9 August 2015. The weather was forecast to be uniformly depressing last weekend, but there was the promise of a rain free window (at least in the earlier part of the day) around the Angus glens. We've done Mount Keen recently - and frequently - so we settled on a rare Corbett foray and headed north east, with a view to wandering up Mount Battock. Those stone-built butts are formidable structures. I suspect that even if three or four really. Bonnie purple heather, with added yellow digger. It was ...

My occasional outdoor adventures. John Muir Trust Big Give Christmas Challenge. Is there anything more exciting than a half packed rucksack nearly ready for the weekend? I think not. I am off to the Brecon Beacons on Saturday. More importantly if you donate to the JMT between 5th and 9th of December your donation will be doubled. Ideal if you don't know what (else) to get me for Christmas. Http:/ www.jmt.org/biggive.asp. Details of how it works and where the money comes from are here. Phase 3 Base camp.

My occasional outdoor adventures. Of mice and drybags. The Llanbder horseshoe is a great long day walk in the Black Mountains. As I was there for an overnighter I decided to add a bit and cover some other unclimbed hills. Bothy etiquette says you should leave enough fuel for the next visitor. I didn't really feel I had done this so I packed up some of the rubbish others had left instead. It was a sad sight as I left in the morning carrying a bag of rubbish and an empty whiskey bottle, sobbing gen...I fol...
