Bucket List #5: Train Muay Thai in Thailand - theboywander
http://theboywander.net/muay-thai-phuket-thailand
A backpackers guide to global culture. Bucket List #5: Train Muay Thai in Thailand. August 5, 2014 10:57 am. Another tick off the bucket list. I had trained back at home for 2 years but it had been at least 18 months since then and the past 6 months of travel had taken a toll on my fitness. I secretly hoped my treks in the Himalayas. Would provide me with some fitness but it didn’t prove to help me all that much. Fifteen minutes into my first training session the mouth guards were in. The Trainers at PTT.

Don't Worry, Be Hampi - theboywander
http://theboywander.net/hampi-must-see-india
A backpackers guide to global culture. Don’t Worry, Be Hampi. May 13, 2014 8:47 am. I’m not sure if Hampi is best described as an alien landscape or a prized photograph from the National Geographic collection but I certainly felt as though I wasn’t meant to see it. It’s one of those places where photo’s just seem far too surreal to ever picture yourself amongst it. After a short stroll through the bazaar and a river crossing you come across the dirt road that’s home to a group of guesthouses with v...

A backpackers guide to global culture. Trekking the Himalayas in the North of India. July 4, 2014 7:43 am. Trekking in the Himalayas of India was always going to have it’s surprises. Taking a break during the trek. I had just enjoyed 3 weeks in Manali. We were greeted with bad news on the first night. Kashmir had record snowfalls this year and was a little delayed in melting, we would have to keep an eye on conditions. The second day was meant to be a move in camp to Nichnai however the group leader ...

4 Reasons To ALWAYS Buy A One-Way Ticket. 4 Reasons To ALWAYS Buy A One-Way Ticket. 8220;A one-way ticket! That means you are never coming back doesn’t it? 8220;A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.”. I couldn’t agree more with my man LT and my recent trip through Southern Mexico and Central America did nothing more than hammer home the one principal that every long term traveler should live by come hell or high water:. DO NOT BOOK A ROUND TRIP TICKET. 1) Flexible Travel Plans.
Best Destinations For Gap Year Holidays - The Lost Backpack
http://thelostbackpack.com/best-destinations-for-gap-year-holidays
Best Destinations For Gap Year Holidays. July 7, 2013. Most people think of gap year travel as filing the time between A levels and entering higher education. Although this is undoubtedly often the case, gap year holidays can be taken at any time during a university course. Most institutions will allow students to take a year out within the middle of their degree studies, so long as enough advance warning is given. Volunteering for a project is another good reason to stay in one place during a gap year a...
Ethiopia Travel: First Impressions
http://uncorneredmarket.com/ethiopia-travel
Travel wide, live deep. Travel to Ethiopia: First Impressions. Travel to Ethiopia: First Impressions. December 19th, 2014. Yes A land of many surprises. When I was growing up, I remember Ethiopia having a long run on the nightly news. Unfortunately newscasts all pointed to the grim. Newsreel images featured fly-ridden babies with distended bellies, drought-ruined landscapes and a ravaging famine made only worse by civil war. Is that really Ethiopia? Our unpacking of our travels in Ethiopia. Before our tr...

I pen this now from a coffee shop at Nairobi International Airport, several hours out from the flight that will take me home, back to the United States and into a new journey over the summer months as I attend weddings, speak at conferences, and visit old friends. I am ready to leave. Is begging for me to return and scoop her up for some sort of adventure even a stateside adventure is...
Guachimontones Pyramids
http://artofadventuring.com/guachimontones-pyramids
April 12, 2014. About 45 minutes from the second largest city in Mexico are the Guachimontones Pyramids and appear to not be getting much attention at all. The site was discovered in 1970 but important research had only begun in 1996. It’s a relatively new site that doesn’t seem to be very popular despite it being a really cool place to visit. You can visit as part of a day trip from Guadalajara. We drove there with our rental car from CarRentals.co.uk. Unfortunately the Guachimontones Pyramids has no of...
See Galapagos Penguins in the Wild
http://bucketlistjourney.net/2014/05/see-galapagos-penguins-in-the-wild
See Galapagos Penguins in the Wild. It was the end of an afternoon snorkeling at Sombrero Chino with Ecoventura. Also known as Chinese Hat island, this was an area notorious for spotting Galápagos. Penguins, and we hadn’t seen any yet. We had been warned that they were scarce, but it was the last animal on my Galápagos Islands. Bucket List to observe and I didn’t want to return home without a check next to it. Just one little penguin. Is that too much to ask? In the distance straight ahead, two Galapagos.

Round the World Travel Guide. 7 Tips On How To Crowdfund Your Travels. May 25, 2014. The following is a guest post by Francis Tapon. Planning your first trip around the world? Still, there were exceptions. For instance, I just read A Voyage Across the Americas. However, my favorite is the Duke of the Abruzzi. You probably were taught tha...

My 9 Favorite Travel Quotes (and why they are my favorite). My 9 Favorite Travel Quotes (and why they are my favorite). Travel is in its nature a very poetic thing. Luckily for us there are people who specialize in such a thing. Here are 9 of my favorite travel quotes (and why I like them so much):. 8221; Instead it is “when will I go there? A backpackers guide to global culture. I’m moving to Koh Tao! August 28, 2014 4:19 am. Heading out to the dive boat. So, there will be no surprises when I say I’m moving here for a couple of months too. I had been looking for somewhere to lay low somewhere for a while, catch up on a lot of writing and work for this blog, but mainly I was looking for somewhere that I could unpack my bag. Here’s how it happened. I like long walks along the beach, as long as they go to a dive boat. The following day was div...
