The Brain Lair: We The Children - #SOLC 26
http://www.thebrainlair.com/2015/03/we-children-solc-26.html
Reader. Librarian. YA/MG Reviewer. Coffee Drinker. Mom. Thursday, March 26, 2015. We The Children - #SOLC 26. When the kid graduated from 5th grade they sang We The Children by Parachute Express. It is a weird song meant to make parents feel sentimental. As we listened to it on our drive home, a few lines really stood out for me:. Every act of kindness has a way of being passed along. We are all a deep reflection of the lessons we've been shown. We the children are golden. And we the children are light.

Reading Challenge 2012 – Which Way From Here?
https://whichwayfromhere.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/reading-challenge-2012
Which Way From Here? Suggestions for your TBR lists. I resolved last January to read 111 books by the end of the year. It seemed completely reasonable, especially since I planned to count what my son and I read together. I even signed up for the GoodReads challenge to keep track of my reading. Except when I checked last week, I was disappointed to see I’d somehow only read 82 books on what I believed was my best reading year ever. What are your reading goals for this year? January 2, 2012. January 2, 2012.

Elementary Reflections: 2015-Looking Forward
http://elementaryreflections.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-looking-forward.html
Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Thursday, January 1, 2015. I was going to look back at my goals for 2014 to see how I fared, but realized if I have to look back at them to refresh my memory on what they were, I probably didn't fare as well as I would have liked. So rather than looking back, I'm going to look forward. The only reflection I am going to have is that I know I need to do better. Health is always a big thing with me. I did better about getting to the gym last year, despite ...

Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Monday, August 18, 2014. First Day of School. The first day of school. Hard to sleep the night before. I'm awake every few hours. Too many thoughts running through my head:. Do I have everything ready? Are extra materials handy for any possible new students? Is there anything that needs to be copied? Do I have enough planned for the day? What if I oversleep? Go home, get ready for school, kiss my son goodbye. He doesn't start school for another week. Librar...
