On Sunday, Grandpa Pilger came over for lunch and to play. Then Grandmpa babysat Mia while Mommy and Daddy went to Lowe's to find a new bathroom fixture, and while we were gone, Mia took a little nap on Grandpa. I think it made Grandpa's day! This past Friday, it was my 25th birthday, and Joe surprised me with a party with all of my friends. We had a great time! The adventures of first-time parents. Saturday, December 11, 2010. Last night we had a great time at the Nielson Christmas Party. Mia was very good, and did her best to keep up with the big kids. She was walking all over, giving hugs, and she got to unwrap her first Christmas present.a cool Nielson backpack! The adventures of first-time parents. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Last Friday, Mia went to her first baseball game! It was Northwoods Night at the Peoria Chiefs game, so we shared her experience with lots from our church family. She rotated from seat to seat, playing with her friends and watching the game. Amelia and I were beginning to get sick of the rainy and cold weather. After a week of not sleeping well, I'm hoping that a long walk out in the fresh air will help her sleep better tonight! Instead, we're going to run to Galesburg to get stuff for our hot tub! I'm sure she'll fall asleep on the way there though! Monday, May 10, 2010. Mother's Day was a great day!

The adventures of first-time parents. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Last night Mia took her first steps! I wasn't sure to count that as her first steps, but my friend Chrissy assured me that that was walking! She was standing up at the chair by Chrissy and then turned and took 4 steps to her stand up toy that was about a foot and a half away. We cheered her on and a few minutes later, she went from the chair again, about 2 steps to my arms! I cannot believe this happened so fast! They were so cute!

The adventures of first-time parents. Monday, August 16, 2010. Thursday, August 12, 2010. Early Monday morning, we took a trip down to St. Louis to visit the St. Louis Zoo as well as Grant's Farms. We arrived around 1:00 pm, and spent 4 hot hours at the zoo. They had great exhibits, including the elephants and the penguins which were our favorite. Mia even had her first ride on a carasel. The adventures of first-time parents. Saturday, November 13, 2010. Look at Miss Amelia! She is walking all over the place! The farthest she has gone is from one chair to the other, and she is continuing to walk more steps each day. I think that she will definitely be walking by Thanksgiving, if not Christmas!
