1st Day of School. Julia and Liam had their first day of school last week. Apparently we are as (un)talented at taking first-day-of-school photos as we are at taking family Christmas shots. 15 pictures later, this was the best I could do. It started raining when we got home that afternoon, and Julia was thrilled at the (rare) chance to don her raincoat and boots and stomp around in the rain. Liam looked forlornly at Julia's outfit (he's outgrown his coat and boots), so I loaned him my rain jacket.

Liam's war wounds (3 days later) from his run-in with a KANGAROO! The countdown to Julia's 3rd birthday is upon us. Her best friend, Caydence, turned three at the end of June, and we celebrated with a fun party at Rowdy Rascals (Julia has been not-so-subtly hinting that she should have her party there too). January 23, 2013. I do with my kids, it just matters that I'm doing it. Instead of worrying about not being creative enough or not being fun enough or not teaching them well enough, I just need to be present and involved more, to actually pay attention when Arden says "Watch Mom! And not just respond with a generic "Yeah, that's great" and to enjoy it all more! Who wouldn't want to spend the day with these two stinkers anyway? They are pretty amazing. Practicing writing our "letters". Fun at the park.
