Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Eating Charleston: The Darling Oyster Bar. As a food lover, I have been dying to visit Charleston, South Carolina to check out the incredible culinary scene and of course, explore the city. When in a seaside town like Charleston, you can't NOT eat seafood. It is just not right. While there are many of places (delicious places! To eat seafood, I would highly recommend putting The Darling Oyster Bar. But back to the food- shall we? Menu, however the raw bar. I cannot sing The...
The Brisket Diaries: Eating SF: Lazy Bear
https://thebrisketdiaries.blogspot.com/2016/10/eating-sf-lazy-bear.html
Monday, October 24, 2016. Eating SF: Lazy Bear. View of the dining room from the loft. Next up was raw Channel Island Halibut with Jimmy Nardello pepper, Sudachi (Japanese citrus fruit) on a brown rice puff cracker. This tasted like a spicy crudo on crunchy puffed rice cracker. The Sudachi citrus had a wonderful fresh and bright flavor that brought this dish to life. Next up we had Sturgeon and Sturgeon caviar with a cucumber Vichyssoise poured around the Sturgeon tower and also with leek and potato....

The Brisket Diaries: Eating Charleston: Husk
https://thebrisketdiaries.blogspot.com/2016/10/eating-charleston-husk.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2016. The minute I found out that my family and I were taking a weekend trip to Charleston, SC, I booked us a table at Husk. To say that I am obsessed with Chef Sean Brock (Chef/Owner of Husk) is an understatement. His season on Mind of A Chef was one of my favorites, he is a James Beard winner (so, duh) and he has pretty much single handedly brought back and revolutionized low country, and Southern cooking. Absolutely. Worth it? Fried chicken skins and Tennessee ribs. Then, we each ...

Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Weeknight/ Leftovers Ramen (Inspired). Whenever it is cold outside and I am feeling a bit blaaah all I want is a warm bowl of soup- preferably Asian inspired soup (because, hello, it is me). Last night I made a miso-ramen combo type of soup and it turned out pretty stellar. AND it was super easy to make. 2 cups chicken broth. 1 large TBSP of miso paste (or powder). 1/2 tsp furikaki rice seasoning. Sprinkle of Japanese chili powder (optional). 2 Thai chilis (optional). Thursday...

Only last week, I was lamenting the lack of truly good barbecue within the Houston city limits. The fourth largest city in the nation, the largest in Texas. And host to an annual barbecue championship that pulls in the greatest talent in the world should have a larger. Our menu is packed with classic dishes we create from scratch. Daily specials incorporate seasonal, local ingredients. From delicious appetizers to tasty salads, inspired entrees to decadent desserts, your meal will be one of a kind.
