And we didn't roll in until about 11 pm. We drove around for an hour and a half (and had to back the trailer out of a precarious spot.ugh), but finally found a spot right on the Salmon River. Uncle Arlen comes for a visit. This year, we didn't get to see Uncle Arlen at Christmas. But he came to visit once in January and again in February! I snapped some pics from his visit in Feb. We went out to a couple dinners while he was here. Clara donned Pop's hat for a funny shot at Bittercreek after a trip to the bookstore where Clara was treated to three special books (thanks Uncle Arlen! Another day, we walked the greenbelt while Clara rode her bike. And acting like animals! This dinky little thing.

Katie and Reggie's Wedding. Katie and Reggie got married on the edge of the hill overlooking the Badlands. It was gorgeous! Reggie played a song for Katie on the guitar as one of Amy's nieces sang. Katie, Reggie, Donna, and Jim. Katie, Reggie, and Dick. The happy couple and their girls, Annie and Rowan. The bride rode across the hill to her reception on a dirt bike. And the groom rode a 4-wheeler! Clara and Pumpkin the cat! It was a gorgeous night! I feel so lucky to have been there! Kurtis even loved it!

Here's my sweet bunk. And the lovely Payette Lake. The weather was seriously cold and crummy for the first half of the week, (I'm talking jeans, boots, and down jackets and SNOW in June) but by Thursday, we were able to get out and walk through Ponderosa State Park and enjoy the amazing setting that was our home for the week. First season of soccer. Clara started soccer this year! It was hysterical. 6 kids were on her team, and only 3 were on the field at a time. The kids learned some basics like which direction to go and to NOT use their hands. But most importantly, they had a blast out there! Clara seriously smiled the entire time she was playing with her friends. It was a fabulous first experience! And Kurtis was one of the coaches! It was almost Easter, so we painted some Easter eggs to hang as a garland on the mantle.

Driving from the midwest back home to Idaho. We left the ranch very early in the morning to get home in one day. We were lucky to see. The Buffalo Gap National Grassland, the Black Hills National Forest, Mount Rushmore National Monument. The self timer option from my camera worked pretty well at 6:45 am! We were the only ones there and the gates weren't even charging admission. I hate to say it, but the early bird really does get the worm! The Bighorn National Forest complete with a mother and baby moose.
