Past the Dewey Decimal. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Isn’t it funny how your weirdness standards migrate? I’m reading the third Chaos Walking book, Monsters of Men: Chaos Walking: Book Three. And I’ve apparently come to terms with the concept that men’s thoughts are broadcast into the air, and that the main character can’t read so he. Give me a break.”. The part that was a step too far. The book is rollicking right along, though, so I must have overcome my skepticism. Saturday, February 25, 2012. Right no...

Past the Dewey Decimal. Friday, May 18, 2012. Cat’s in the Cradle. There’s a nice literary novel I’ve been waiting for and I got the call to pick it up at the library yesterday. But. They also had Ryan O’Neal’s autobiography in stock, too. I haven’t started reading the well-written and critically acclaimed book. Oh, please. Like you could have resisted Ryan and Farrah’s train wreck, either. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blog Design by Gisele Jaquenod. Cat’s in the Cradle. Hyperbole and a Half.

Past the Dewey Decimal. Friday, May 17, 2013. Missed you all dearly, blah, blah. I just finished. A couple of days ago and was glad I had watched the. I usually hate the movie adaptations of books I like, with Maeve Binchey’s. Being the low point and maybe Colin Firth’s version of P. Being the best possible outcome. Warm Bodies lost the depth of the book, of course, with so much of the action occurring as an internal dialogue, but the movie felt true to the spirit of the book. I love your reviews.

Past the Dewey Decimal. Saturday, May 25, 2013. It’s been a good reading week. I did enjoy the Shanna Swendson 'Kiss and Spell. As much as I thought I would. I read Shanna’s blog. I polished off Jim Gaffigan’s 'Dad is Fat. I moved from Gaffigan to Lauren Graham’s book, 'Someday, Someday, Maybe,. But I’m not hearing her voice in my head. For some reason, I’m listening to 'Sutton Foster. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blog Design by Gisele Jaquenod. Hyperbole and a Half.

Past the Dewey Decimal. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Every Day is Like Sunday. This Y.A. book is Groundhog Day. The repetition was never boring. I loved trying to see which combination Samantha would try next and figuring the potential outcomes. Not fluffy reading, by any means, but really good. I highly recommend. Thursday, August 25, 2011. Spirits in the Material World. I’ve been so busy reading The Hunger Games. One of my favorite books is Nancy Atherton’s Aunt Dimity's Death. Saturday, August 20, 2011.

Past the Dewey Decimal. Saturday, March 31, 2012. The Policy of Truth. My heavens, sometimes I read them so you don’t have to. I finished. This week, a book about boarding school that wished it was. But was not. It wasn’t. The Catcher in the Rye. Have had a skewed view of what boarding school was like for a gay male student. If that didn’t make you a little sick, then I don’t think we read the same books. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Come, Gentle Peace. All Quiet on the Western Front,. If we threw away thes...

Past the Dewey Decimal. Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road. Oh, do not wait to get your hands on Let's Pretend This Never Happened: (A Mostly True Memoir). Jenny Lawson, the Bloggess. Has written a book that is, indeed, funnier than the Bible. Like the Bible, while I was reading it I sometimes had to put my head down on the pillow and rest for a while, but in this case it was because I was giggling too hard to keep my head up. I paid full price. This book is totally true, excep...

Past the Dewey Decimal. Saturday, January 28, 2012. Lone Star State of Mind. I read a book this week about a girl moving to Texas from New York, but it was utterly forgettable, so I’m going to introduce you to the New Yorker- transplants-to-Texas book that remains the gold standard. I think I read Never Love a Cowboy. Bear in mind that this book is set in Austin. In the 1980’s. Austin has always been a. Down the street that leads directly to the University of Texas campus. Past the Dewey Decimal. Saturday, December 31, 2011. So Nice So Smart. Do you ever read the second book of a set and convince yourself that maybe you’ve forgotten to read a book? Like maybe you’re really reading the third. One in the series? I did the opposite with MaryJanice Davidson’s. It’s the latest of the Queen Betsy books, which I love. Very funny vampire series.) So Davidson starts off the prologue talking about her fans thinking she was crazy after the last book and time travel (Jazz Hands! I mea...
