Smelling of rich mahogany since 1984. Buckwheat Crêpes with Ham and Cheese. July 19, 2015. During our Franco-Belgo-Dutch travels. His Lordship and I took a day trip out to Versailles. While there, I told him of a small crêperie located near the palace that boasted some of my dad and I’s favorite crêpes as well as my mom’s favorite salad. (Seriously, ask her about it. She’ll tell you.). Completely famished (and borderline hangry), we hit up Le Carré aux Crêpes. And they were delicious. 1/4 tsp. salt.

Smelling of rich mahogany since 1984. August 7, 2015. Is this thing on? My blog has always been a place where I have something to report on, and, well… There’s nothing new to report. Like everyone else’s summer, it’s been hot. There’s been travel. There’s been lots of outdoor cocktails. And there has been minimal cooking so to keep the apartment temperature at a low. Thank God tomato season is at it’s peak. And we all know how much His Lordship. And I love tomatoes. We put them in pasta. Summer in a bowl!

Smelling of rich mahogany since 1984. Pasta with Carrot/Ginger Puree. July 17, 2015. We’ve reached yet another race week in the Lewis-Baker household. This time, I’m not partaking. Triathlon season is in full swing and His Lordship. Along with several friends, will be racing the New York City Triathlon. Though I’m no triathlete, I’m not taking a stroll down Easy Street. Sunday also wraps up week 3 of New York City Marathon training. I failed on that last one.). And good luck, triathletes! 2 Meanwhile, br...

Smelling of rich mahogany since 1984. June 28, 2015. I deemed #SandwichSunday a “thing.”. And yet, I’ve not posted a Sandwich on Sunday in many moons. That does not a good blogger make. Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated. 1 large slice Emmenthaler cheese. 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil. 1 Tbsp. butter. Pasta with Shrimp, Thai Chile and Basil. Susan - Nurse on the Run.

Smelling of rich mahogany since 1984. Pasta with Shrimp, Thai Chile and Basil. June 22, 2015. Things are getting pretty serious in the Lewis-Baker household. While I’m taking a brief respite from running (read: eating super cheesy late-night nachos in Binghamton), His Lordship is ramping up his triathlon season. Ergo, there’s a bit of a carb sitch in the ol’ kitchen. Pasta with Shrimp, Thai Chile and Basil. 1/2 lb. bucatini pasta. 1 Thai chile pepper, minced. 2 lg garlic cloves, minced. You are commentin...

Cannellini Bean Dip. – Abbe Lewis Baker
http://abbelewisbaker.com/2014/01/23/cannellini-bean-dip
Writer, Editor and Cheese Lover. January 23, 2014. There are many going-ons at the beginning of the year, namely, the playoffs and the Super Bowl, as well as the Academy Awards. Those things are all watched at the Lewis-Baker household (or at a bar). Another thing that happens at the beginning of the year is the reassessment of my budget, in which I look at December’s spending, which then leads me to cursing myself over how much I’ve spent on holiday funtivities. So, where am I going with this?
