The Burns Family

Thursday, May 21, 2015. I Need a Moment. Thomas is turning 5. It has been 5 years since I was pregnant - no love lost there. It has been 5 years since I last birthed a baby - his arrival was one of the highlights of my life. It has been 5 of the hardest, saddest, joyful-est, fun-est, craziest, loudest, fastest years of my life. And tried as much as I could to wrap my brain around the notion that he would not stay small forever. For each milestone, there is celebration and sadness:. When I was pregnant wi...

The Burns Family: Mary Monday: Hair Confession

http://theburnsinsc.blogspot.com/2013/04/mary-monday-hair-confession.html

Monday, April 15, 2013. Mary Monday: Hair Confession. It's Monday again, and I actually remembered my new resolution of writing weekly via the Monday posts. First step: figure out how to make the time to jot thoughts into the week. Second step: make said thoughts coherent. Second step will be a long time coming. On to another "thing" I do; or don't do:. I don't wash my hair (often). True story. But in 1995 I was too young to have that hair cut. Here is the only digital picture I have of my straight hair:.

The Burns Family: Bringing Thomas Home

http://theburnsinsc.blogspot.com/2010/06/bringing-thomas-home.html

Wednesday, June 2, 2010. I'm starting to believe it. He is cuddly, though, and I take every chance I can get to let him sleep in my arms (when I'm not too busy coveting sleep myself). We've had amazing help from friends bringing food and groceries and carpooling for us so that I can truly stay here and rest and take care of the kids as much as possible, and for that I am so thankful! I could not do it without them! Tomorrow, remind me that I said all that. Kate's homemade birth announcement.

The Burns Family: Year 1 With 3

http://theburnsinsc.blogspot.com/2011/04/year-1-with-3.html

Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Year 1 With 3. Today, Thomas is 1! 1 Always have shredded cheese in the fridge. When dad works late, I found the same meal can make dinner and fill up a 7 year old, a 4 year old, and a 10 month old. 2 4pm is not too early to get dinner started. And this is for a 6:30 dining time. And it's most likely reheating leftovers in the microwave. 3 4am is the only time during the day I can sit and watch tv uninterrupted. So I did that, once, on April 29th, 2011. 8 It counts as exercise if I...

The Burns Family: Year 4 With 3

http://theburnsinsc.blogspot.com/2014/05/year-4-with-3.html

Saturday, May 24, 2014. Year 4 With 3. There are also a lot of words I absorb during the day and that average continues to increase. I wonder if, like men v. women have an average amount of words spoken per day, people can have a maximum amount of words heard before they begin to shut down mentally? That's great." Some days I hit that point before noon. Those are not our best days. At any rate, here are words from our kids that give a glimpse at what the past year has been like:. Okbut the water is in.

The Cubbison Family: August 2010

http://norcalcubbies.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

The adventures of the NorCal Cubbies. Thursday, August 19, 2010. This summer, I have been filling in for a co-worker, teaching a 2 year old class on Wednesdays in Palo Alto. Even though I enjoyed the kids, I really didn't love the commute and having to leave Cole with a babysitter for so long. Teaching the class has made the summer zoom by. although it hasn't felt much like summer here, because it has been so cool! I haven't worn shorts once. and capris only a few times! We boarded the Caltrain. I'll nev...

The adventures of the NorCal Cubbies. Thursday, February 24, 2011. A Pickle for Breakfast? Warning - this is not a terribly exciting video, but I love capturing even the everyday things to share with family :) Hope you enjoy! The other morning at breakfast, Cole decided to steer away from his usual bowl of cereal or toast. He eventually ended up with apples, peanut butter and honey (a Cubbison staple), and grapes. Good breakfast, I thought! Sunday, February 20, 2011. Ode to Monster Trucks. Z" is for Sebra.

Going Boling: March 2011

http://goingboling.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 21, 2011. Two weeks ago we went to the zoo with a bunch of our friends. Gus and Trent were too cute not to photograph in the wagon together. Is it nap time yet? Mommy, I need a hair cut, I don't want to look like a real monkey. The first weekend of March was equally fabulous as we purchased our new house in Greenville and spent the rest of the weekend at the lake and in Clemson with our good friends the Scotts and their precious little girl Andie. LRAH 10k and Selling the House. My sister-i...

After tucking the boys in one night I went back in to check on them before going to bed and found Troy like this.his favorite blanket (thanks Storm! Wrapped, Mary style, around his head. Then one day during nap time we found that Troy had gotten up, put on Sam's rain boots. Gotten back in bed, and fallen asleep. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Day in the Life.

http://withthemillers.blogspot.com/2013/02/christmas-tree.html

Happenings with the Millers. Smatterings of life with Josh, Rebecca, Sam, Troy, and Shiloh. Friday, February 08, 2013. Alright, so remember the picture of our HUGE tree? Not sure the picture does it justice.it really was half the width of our den. The reason we got such a large tree. So one beautiful Saturday we loaded up and went across the river to Indiana. I promise even though the sign says orchard and winery they did have trees (and also ice cream.we sampled some). Now, in the tree field all the tre...

Fowler Family Blog: Halftime Exhibition - EHS vs. Christ Church

http://stephenfowlerfam.blogspot.com/2014/09/halftime-exhibition-ehs-vs-christ-church.html

Saturday, September 6, 2014. Halftime Exhibition - EHS vs. Christ Church. The Greenville Grizzlies were invited to play the Carolina Ravens at halftime of the Eastside High vs. Christ Church game. When Brody was creamed by a bunch of purple jerseys, I realized this football mom thing is not for the faint of heart. But he got up and his only complaint was that someone's cleat stepped on his arm. I'm so proud of my tough little man. Here he is with his 8U team, he's number 22, back left:. Time in a bottle.
