Laugh Dream. Dare. Yesterday’s the past …. November 28, 2013. Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present. – Bil Keane. That kind of reminded me of the last few weeks for Brenda and I. We’ve covered a lot of ground it seems. Christmas is almost here. Or is it? All for now. I will most likely write something shorter this weekend prior to Brenda going for her surgery. Wish us luck … bye for now, and with love …. This entry was posted in Christmas.

Laugh Dream. Dare. January 5, 2014. Christmas is finally over, and the New Year has arrived! But then, this is not about fashion anyway, is it? What a brave guy! I think I was whiter than the floor tiles in the examination room! I FELT that tube coming out! Laugh Dream. Dare. Insert life in the middle …. December 1, 2013. The quote above gave me much pause for thought the past few days. It actually comes from a poem that my oldest son wrote and then delivered to my Mom and Dad at the 50th anniversary party that we threw for them of 10 years ago now. Canoe trip vs. urban grind. So many “I cannot possibly keep this up” moments, way beyond the point where “just power through” seems like an option, so I have to go easy on myself, be a little soft (which feels counter-intuitive), wait and see (which I HATE), and suddenly it’s like “Hey, remember an hour ago, when I couldn’t possibly go on? Not gonna lie, the grind is fairly challenging right now. Here’s a little scene from the memoir for days like this:. We got this, Bakes. We got this, Bakes. I realize ...

About Me and The Canada Plan. About Me and The Canada Plan. I’m Katie, from England and in November 2015 I’ll be making my way across the planet to Alberta, Canada, to participate in a 2 year working holiday up in the Rocky Mountains, and I’ll be working at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel; an adventure I named “The Canada Plan”. The Canada plan has been one of the biggest, most stressful, expensive but also incredible and life changing decisions I’ve ever made. Have a safe journey, where ever you go!
