My Type of Blog: App scene gets xheighting.
http://mytypeofblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/app-scene-gets-xheighting.html
Sunday, February 22, 2009. App scene gets xheighting. There's never been a better time for type-loving iPhone-owners. Three apps that have recently caught my eye are:. From FontFont: a handy application to "browse, view and print approximately 650 original typefaces from the international font vendor on your iPhone or iPod touch.". Can't wait to see what's coming next. Just scored a 24.33 point letterdrop! Still can't top 401.69, though. More as this develops! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Type of Blog: July 2006

Friday, July 28, 2006. Kern, baby, kern. 8220;Anyone who says money can’t buy happiness, doesn’t know where to shop” is not a sentiment I ever felt inclined to agree with… until I stumbled across Veer.com and their decidedly tasty ‘Kern’ zip-up. I certainly think so.). Come on. Kerning’s just so satisfying. It’s like scratching an itch, or getting that piece of apple peel out from between your teeth. Not kerning is like putting up a picture and not worrying about whether it’...Get it to print, Princess!

Loose Change: August 2010
http://loosechangeblog.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Since becoming a mother I have developed a philosophy. It's deep. Basically it goes something like this. "It's wasteful and my own Mum wouldn't have let me do it, but if you think about it, it's worth the 50c it cost for the 55 minutes of fun it provided.". Links to this post. Monday, August 23, 2010. I successfully processed 6 loads of washing over yesterday and today. I actually got to the bottom of the washing baskets. Is there anything more satisfying? Links to this post.

Commas on the Path: The Annual Christmas Stolp 2004.
http://commasonthepath.blogspot.com/2006/01/annual-christmas-stolp-2004.html
Thursday, January 05, 2006. The Annual Christmas Stolp 2004. In 2004 the ranks were hit hard. JJ and Kerry were in the US, Bart was in a bar in Belgrade, and Cobbies was… actually, where was Cobbies? JJ&K called in from Foggy Bottom, Washington DC, on Christmas Eve at 17:00 Local Time, and Bart, as previously mentioned, was in a bar… so join the dots on whether or not he called in. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. The Annual Christmas Stolp 2009. Aaah, Christmas. Snow on the ground, a roaring fire in the hearth, a glow on our faces and in our hearts as we gather around the piano, drinking eggnog and singing Yuletide carols. This year saw a triple debut with Nick, Pip and Harper swelling the ranks and joining in the traditional Christmas fun with a smile and a laugh. Bart and Cobbies, two of the five pillars of stolping. So stick around now for the Slurpee Toss. And we'll see you in '10!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008. I spotted a few of the typographic anachronisms in the otherwise wonderful Mad Men. Especially that glaring Lucida Handwriting in the opening titles), but Mark SImonson got the lot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Commas on the Path.

My Type of Blog: The Meaning of Everything.
http://mytypeofblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/meaning-of-everything.html
Saturday, May 23, 2009. The Meaning of Everything. Just finished reading The Meaning of Everything – The Story of the Oxford English Dictionary. The book is mostly focussed on the content of the dictionary, the story of the words themselves, but no chronicle of the dictionary would be complete without reference to the type:. It was a footnote to the text quoted above, however, that really caught my eye:. A favourite application of Clarendon is on the many street signs in South Melbourne for Clarendon St&...
