Just Showing Off, Really. While I was off with a bad back, I found a log, maybe a metre long and 40cm diameter, and fantasized about carving it into a youthful version of the Venus of Willendorf. Jean M Auel's Earth's Children series (Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of Horses, etc) and was hung up on the idea of these ancient goddesses. Rob's Stone Heads Project. We spent Christmas, 2006, in Watchet on the Somerset coast, so of course, I had to carve a head! Rather predictably, it's called Salvador Dali. As I did so. I had to erase and recarve part of the date on the back, because I stupidly carved RC 06, while my brain was in neutral. It's about 20cm long. 22nd April, 2008.
