The Classy Teacher

Monday, July 20, 2015. The One Where I Make Things. I am so excited to finally be linking up with Tara for a Monday Made It. I have a love/hate relationship with this link up. I LOVE all the wonderful ideas that are shared, but I hate all the time I spend looking at all the ideas and then feeling the need to add to my to do list. I'm sure you can relate. But I still like to relax and do some creating for my classroom. So I made another binder cover. :). I used 5 different patterns for the month cards.

The Classy Teacher: July 2014

http://www.theclassyteacher.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 28, 2014. The One with Neon Decor: Monday Made It. Monday Made Its are one of my most favorite things about summer. I look forward to them each week. The teachers who participate share some amazing ideas. I will confess that I don't get much done on Mondays because I spend hours and hours looking at everyone's posts. Here are a few of my Monday Made Its for the week. I think the acrostic would work in any classroom, not just math. It is available in my TPT store. I followed this tutorial.

The Classy Teacher: December 2014

http://www.theclassyteacher.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 19, 2014. The One With the Christmas Gifts. I found these glitter ornament. S on Pinterest. I thought they would make the perfect gifts for my students this year so I decided to give them a try. They were so easy to make. I started with clear ornaments that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I also purchased some Glitter It glue. This worked perfectly and a little bit goes a long ways. I have seen several tutorials that say you can use floor wax instead of this glue. I have to say I absolutely LOV...

Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The One With the Makeover Madness. As usual I'm a little late to the party, but I just could not miss out on all the fun. D along with a few other bloggers are hosting a TPT Seller Challenge. Here are my stats at the beginning of the challenge. Yes, that is a big fat ZERO on my Facebook followers. This challenge has inspired me to start a Facebook page for The Classy Teacher. I would love for you to visit and maybe even follow. Another thing I would love for you to check out.

The Classy Teacher: March 2015

http://www.theclassyteacher.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2015. The One After the Hiatus. After a long unintended hiatus I am back! I don't have any great excuses for my hiatus. And most days I don't feel like what I'm doing in the classroom is worth blogging about. They are just ordinary days in the classroom. Some days my students are super stars. Some days challenge me as a teacher. You know how it is. What would you like to read about? What questions do you have that you would like to answer? My goal is to blog at least once a week. My New...

Monday, August 11, 2014. Made it Monday: Divisibility PowerPoint. I taught the divisibility rules last year, but I don't think the kids really got them. I have had them memorized since fifth grade, but I never understood how they worked. So I did a little internet research. The videos at artofproblemsolving.com finally cleared up the confusion. Teaching with Borrowed Wisdom: June 2015

http://teachingwithborrowedwisdom.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 18, 2015. 2 years ago, I had Coach come in and talk about sports statistics. I didn't do that last year, but I'll have to make it a priority again- -it was fun for everyone and gave a little non-math-class context for what we were doing. After the cpm materials, I'll use the textbook problems, along with analyzing real data. (Last year, we looked at some stats from the students' home countries. In a fourteen-student class, we had 8 nationalities represented! Labels: first day prep. I'm not...

The Simply Scientific Classroom: It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like....School Time!

http://mrsjacobsclassroom.blogspot.com/2015/07/its-beginning-to-look-lot-likeschool.html

Friday, July 31, 2015. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like.School Time! I am only making a few minor changes to the classroom decor this year. Overall I have been satisfied with the look of my classroom. I love the pre-made awnings I found at a local teacher store. In the past, I have tried to figure out a way to make one but never had the time or energy to make it happen. So when I stumbled upon these items I had to snatch them up! Posted by Stephanie Jacobs. http://craftymiddleschoolteacher.blogspot.com/2015/04/smart-devices-and-past.html

Confessions of a Crafty Middle School Teacher. A blog dedicated to the various crafts, strategies, and ideas used in my middle school classroom. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Smart Devices and the Past. Would they have been able to accomplish more? I searched the internet for a cell phone template that I wanted to use but could not find one that included everything I wanted to do. I decided to make the template for my students to use next week. Worked very well and the students thoroughly enjoyed it.
