Adventures in Eden: August 2012
http://flockoffowles.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Wednesday, August 22, 2012. The Cape: Day 1 and 2. Over the Fourth of July, our little family went to Cape Cod to visit my sisters! My oldest sister, Natalie, married into a family that has a beach house right on the water in Cataumet, Massachusetts. I drove the kids the whole way by myself! Big of a deal except this particular airport is tiny . We were all relieved when we got there! The house is so inviting and I love the little details that give it such charm.

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Sunday, August 7, 2011. I thought I'd post a quick anecdote about K1 while I am home from church with him as he recovers from being sick. We've been trying to teach him the consequences of doing/not doing certain things. For example, if he is eating a cracker and does not want to do so at the table, our conversation goes something like this:. Me: "K1, if you don't stay at the table to eat that, I will have to take it away until you stay at the table.". I'm still ...

Adventures in Eden: March 2013

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Sunday, March 24, 2013. I've been gone for a while, but it hasn't been because we've been lazy around here. So much has happened in the past month! First and foremost: PC took the bar! My friend Heidi was an angel and offered to watch my kids two days in a row so I could go to the Temple while PC was taking his exam. It was lovely. Um, this girl is pretty much darling. Glad my bump can be a comfy resting place. The zebras walked right over to us! Sadly, I didn't ...

Adventures in Eden: January 2012

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Wednesday, January 4, 2012. They glued the mouth, nose and 'hair' or leaves :). A specific letter each week. Sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't too bad. What I thought was really brilliant was the montly placement of said letters, colors, etc. Example: In October our color was orange, the shape was an oval and we covered A,P,W,H (apples, autumn, Pumpkins, witches, webs, halloween, harvest, you get the idea). Snack time with Orange food and Orange juice! It wa...

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Saturday, May 14, 2011. Everyone has been asking how I've been adjusting to having two kids. Like most things in life, some days are better than others. Truthfully the first 6 weeks were really tough. I can honestly say I was not myself. The fact that my hormones were switching gears really took a toll on me emotionally. I was unnaturally angry and stressed. Pictured: a bouquet of flowers that PC gave me after a really tough day with the kids. I was so glad just ...

Adventures in Eden: October 2011

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Does anyone else feel like they're drowning. I sure do. Every day is a fight to stay afloat. I try to grab onto a slippery, rolling log called patience but it seems to slip out of my hands when I need it most. My sweet little girl is neglected most of the time because I'm tending to her brother or some disaster he's caused. Did I mention my husband is gone all the time? Here's to hoping and trying to make tomorrow a better day. Mama Chic...

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Wednesday, May 9, 2012. On the evening of December 19th our family drove into DC to see the National Tree. Truthfully, I was expecting it to be bigger but it was still cool to say, 'I've seen that' They even had a house where you could go see Santa, but sadly he was on his 30 minute break when we showed up. Didn't bother K1. He was more than happy to look at all the trains that whizzed around the tree. Our buddies the Princes. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Action packed ...

Taking the garden with us wherever we go! Sunday, July 31, 2011. He'd been walking to and from the car for months but I think he was missing the attention. I gave in sometimes. K1 watching the lawn being mowed in our complex. In fact, 'mooower' was the third vehicle word he could say. We're up to car, bus and mower. Also his 'car' now has a distinct 'R' sound :). Here he is watching 'Cars' the movie. Notice how he is perched on this box. Cracks me up. Reading amongst his toys. He really is amazing. All m...
