Friday, June 11, 2010. I cut down an 8in oak tree about 16ft long for my roof beam. Im letting it dry. I added 2x6's above each window to hold the wall and weight of the the oak beam, that way the weight of the roof is distributed among the wall. June 15, 2010 at 6:12 AM.
