A Taoist Journey to the Stars: Tao or Dao
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2011/12/tao-or-dao.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Saturday, December 10, 2011. When I tell people I am a Taoist, a frequently asked question of anyone well read in religious texts asks the questions, "What's the difference between Tao and Dao? The long answer is much more complicated and steeped in judgement. I would point you to this document for an example of what I mean: what is dao? Isn't there space for more than a single interpretation of the texts? So what if some of them are western oriented? Written as the Zhuangzi.

A Taoist Journey to the Stars: A Merry Winter Solstice to You
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-merry-winter-solstice-to-you.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Sunday, December 21, 2014. A Merry Winter Solstice to You. Merry solstice on the longest night of the year! With our son being 1 year old, we felt it was time to include him in some traditions of our own. This is an additional challenge, as I identify as Taoist, and the husband as Pagan. We are lucky in some ways, because these two integrate well, in identification with nature and new beginnings. For the next few years, we would like to add a few traditions of our own (feel...

A Taoist Journey to the Stars: Change Abounds
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2014/05/change-abounds.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Thursday, May 29, 2014. A reader pointed out to me that the Tao is change. How incredibly true. A familiar quote states something along the lines of: The only thing that never changes, is that everything changes. Well, there are many changes occurring in our household at the moment. It is time for that cycle to begin again. May 31, 2014 at 10:01 PM. Oh, how I know! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Day 08: An Inspiring Yin Yang Picture.

A Taoist Journey to the Stars: Positive Thoughts
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2014/07/positive-thoughts.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. My first introduction to Taoism was through a book written by Wayne Dyer called Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life. A few nights ago, I found myself overwhelmed. Little one is teething, and not sleeping well, or eating well, he's pretty fussy all the time really. Hubby was gone (understandably) and I was lost in what seemed a never ending spiral of crying, clinging, screaming, and fussing. It took that moment, being so overwhelmed that day, to sit...

A Taoist Journey to the Stars: A short rant
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-short-rant.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Wednesday, May 22, 2013. I try not to rant to much here on my blog, and instead bring you informed and thoughtful posts that relate to the Tao. I'm afraid this is one exception, I will keep it short, though. I was asked yesterday if I would be attending my nephew's graduation. This seems like a simple question, what could be wrong with that? The answer was a simple, "Nothing, he's 5, what do you expect? May 22, 2013 at 2:12 PM. Celebrations such as these bother me in so man...

A Taoist Journey to the Stars: An Angry Taoist?
http://kerritao.blogspot.com/2011/10/angry-taoist.html
A Taoist Journey to the Stars. Sunday, October 2, 2011. Recent events found me and some close friends dealing with a large amount of anger. After an interchange with some co-worker type people, we found ourselves seething. It was bad enough that even after we parted ways, the anger was enough to spur further texting and even ill feelings the next day as we returned to our tasks. My friend (non-Taoist mind you) asked me, what would Lao Tzu do? The verse that stood out to me the most was 37:. Anger is a fo...
