AAWAB: In Defense of Vital Government Services
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/in-defense-of-vital-government-services.html
Monday, April 12, 2010. In Defense of Vital Government Services. It’s that time of the year again! This Thursday is Government Services Day! Some call it tax day.). A few rational facts. To keep in mind…. 1) Despite the complaints you may be hearing about “tax-and-spend liberals” who are raising your taxes, Americans still pay the THIRD-LOWEST taxes amongst industrial nations. We pay some of the lowest taxes in the world. And we have some of the best public services. [1]. I could keep going, but you get ...

AAWAB: The best of times
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/best-of-times.html
Friday, April 16, 2010. The best of times. My favorite musician is and continues to be the Rhode Island slam poet-cum-independent hip-hopper, Sage Francis. He continues to turn out amazing songs with amazing beats and, most importantly, amazing lyrics. He has a new album dropping soon and he will be touring, but it is bittersweet. I am very excited. But I am also just waiting patiently. He has signaled many-times that he is close to the end of his touring and music-making. You can hear the song, here.

AAWAB: Well, that didn't take long...
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/well-that-didnt-take-long.html
Friday, April 30, 2010. Well, that didn't take long. I didn't think this would be an issue, but unfortunately due to my grown-up job, I'm going to have to shut this blog down. I know that will really dissapoint the two of you who read it, but, eventually, with time, you'll get over it. You will still be able to follow my sparkling wit on my Facebook page where I will occasionally post "Notes.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Own 2015 "Best Of". AAWAB: 300
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/300.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. The beginning of the regular season for the Portland Trail Blazers was filled with hype and hope. Then people started getting hurt. Hope started fading, even though the team never did. Despite having 13 players miss over 300 games in the season, the Blazers went on to finish with a 50-32 record and secure the number six seed in the NBA Western Conference Playoffs. This is the ultimate underdog scenario. This is truly 300. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Own 2015 "Best Of".

AAWAB: Into the wild green yonder
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/into-wild-green-yonder.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Into the wild green yonder. I'm still not sure of this decision. It seems to me that this may turn into a giant time-suck. Alternatively, I think that it will be a good creative outlet. Either way, I've already created my first post, so, no turning back now, suckers! I want this to be an entertaining blog. Not just for me, but for my friends, family and acquaintances. As well. My hope is to blog about all topics, not just boring political shit all the time. My Own 2015 "Best Of".

AAWAB: March 2010
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 27, 2010. Health care bill sound familiar? It should – Republicans wrote it. Now that the carnage has (mostly) subsided from the historic March 21 vote, the benefits of the bill are starting to become clear. Soon, 32 million Americans will finally have access to a quality, affordable health insurance plan, making us the last industrialized nation in the world to provide that access to its citizens. Starting in a few years, state's will be allowed to establish insurance exchange marketplac...

Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Where we are on HCR. Well, despite all the good things. The health care reform legislation does (like, I dunno, stop allowing insurance companies to refuse covering a newborn with a heart defect. The ‘ol horseshit is still flying around following the passage of the single most important legislation since Medicare. Although based on the white noise (ha! You’d think it was more, so far only 15. AAWAB: A whole lotta ugly
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/whole-lotta-ugly.html
Thursday, April 8, 2010. A whole lotta ugly. The 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament was another beautiful display of March Madness at its finest. (In case you live under a rock or hate sports: Duke won). This year, though, I noticed something else about the tourney: it was a whole lot uglier than in years past. Sure, there are still handsome a-hole's like Jon Scheyer. Out there. But good lord, there appears to have been an ugly storm at some of the top basketball programs in the country. View my compl...

AAWAB: Jackie Robinson (and taxes)
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/jackie-robinson-and-taxes.html
Thursday, April 15, 2010. Jackie Robinson (and taxes). The most important event today will not be thousands of angry white people freedom foaming, it will occur in Major League Baseball stadiums across the nation. It's Jackie Robinson day, when each team, each player, each coach, wears number 42, in honor of the man who defied all the odds and risked his life tobecome the first black man to play Major League Baseball. Today, we all wear number 42. Tax rates, "are lower for every income bracket, except th...
