Sunday, March 7, 2010. Jan and Feb. bring birthday fun to our house. Nathan's now five, and had a spaceship cake for his birthday. I can't believe my baby is 5! Becca's birthday party was cancelled twice, because Nathan had a nasty bout with pneumonia. He's ok now, it was a little scary though, we had 2 trips to the hospital. We did have a little castle cake for her birthday, but we're going to have a little party with the neighbor kids hopefully this week. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, August 26, 2011. In our homeschool this week…. We survived the first 2 weeks of school! The hardest part is still anything involving writing. Becca's doing fantastic, though, much better than I expected! We're finishing the Wizard of Oz, and are looking forward to family movie night for their first showing of it! I am inspired by…. Anyone who homeschools more than 2.this is exhausting! My favorite thing this week was…. Things I’m working on…. Keeping the house tidy (not clean, but picked up).

Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Mark's parents asked us to meet them at the Lincoln Museum in Springfield. Mark and I went when Nathan was a baby, but we hadn't been there since. The museum is really neat.the kids even enjoyed it. Here's Nicholas with his Grandpa. We even walked around Lincoln's neighborhood. It was a beautiful fall day. I found an old book at a garage sale. Saturday, October 29, 2011. We are officially Mortonites.we did the Pumpkin Fest full force! We had pumpkin everything.ice cream, chili, coffee (for Mark), doughnuts.so yummy! Sunday, July 31, 2011. I learned a lot of things about myself during this last year of homeschooling. We tried to do Sonlight. But really early on, I had trouble keeping to the instructor's guide. Then I bought the Well Planned Day Organizer. Thinking I could make my own instructor's guide, and I couldn't stick with that either. Thursday, September 15, 2011. In our homeschool this week…. I backed off on the phonics/spelling stuff that we've been doing. I did place a big reward at the end of the his book, so he's been a lot more motivated to do it on his own. Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…. I did a lot of freezer cooking this week, and I came upon this tip. Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…. We went to the pumpkin festival! Yummy pumpkin ice cream tonight, and I'm all pumped or pumpkin chili tomorrow.

Thursday, April 15, 2010. We put our house up for sale in Feb, but nothing really happened. All of a sudden, last week, someone came in and bought our house! We found this one and put an offer down. Here's Nathan in front of the house. Here's the side view, look at the big yard! Here's the family room, maybe where I'll put the piano, not completely sure yet what I'm going to do with this space.
