Saturday, February 27, 2010. 1 1/2 tsp almond extract. 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice. 2 1/2 c flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 c ground almonds. 2 lbs plums (or apples or peaches) quartered. Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, extract and lemon juice. Sift together flour and baking powder. Stir into sugar mixture. Stir in almonds. Best Chocolate Chip Cookies. 2 c 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 12 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled until warm. 1 c packed brown sugar. 1/2 c white sugar. 2 tsp vanilla extract. 2 c chocolate chips. Combine dry ingredients and set aside. Combine butter and sugars; beat in eggs and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Add dry ingredients and stir until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. 4 large cucumbers, peeled, seeded, sliced. 1/2 red onion, peeled, thinly sliced (rinse and drain to diminish intense flavor). 3 Tbsp finely chopped fresh dill. 3 Tbsp finely chopped fresh mint leaves. 1 tsp sea salt. 1/4 c white wine vinegar. 1-1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil. Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Mix well. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours. (Optimal time: 4-6 hours.) Adjust seasoning as needed and serve chilled. Prepare risotto according to package directions; use broth to cook risotto. Peel sweet potato and cut into small cubes. Saute in olive oil until soft and browned (about 10 minutes). Tarragon Marinade for Vegetables. 1/2 cup olive oil. 3 Tbsp strained lemon juice. 3 Tbsp cider vinegar. 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced. 2 Tbsp minced, fresh tarragon or 1 Tbsp dried. Combine all the ingredients and beat for 2 minutes, or process in a blender for 1 minute at low speed. Pour over warm vegetables and allow to marinate for several hours before serving.
