The Well Of Lost Blogs: 100 years ago today
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2011/10/100-years-ago-today.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Sunday, 23 October 2011. 100 years ago today. My Grandad would have been 100 years old today. He would not have been impressed! He lived to the age of 94 which is a fantastic age in anyone's book, and he was fiercely independent to the end.probably too independent at times. So, other than the birth of my Grandad, what else happened in 1911? I nternational Women's Day was celebrated for the first time. The presence of the German warship 'Panther' in the Moroccan port of.

The Well Of Lost Blogs: May 2011
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Monday, 9 May 2011. I’m drenched. I thought the storm had passed so decided to take Barney out….I was wrong, it absolutely poured. At least Barney found it entertaining, he was trying to catch the rain! Sunday saw us drive further into Cheshire to Capesthorne Hall and Gardens where we ambled through bluebell woods and around the lake before looking around the Hall and then having the compulsory afternoon tea and huge slab of cake! Some photos are below, with the rest here.

The Well Of Lost Blogs: September 2012
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Monday, 17 September 2012. Didn't we have a lovely time. The day we went to Bangor. My couple of days away in North Wales ended with a journey back along the coast making brief pitstops at Bangor and Conwy. This time it really was a flying visit and motivated mainly by nostalgia, so our walk round the town took me past my old haunts, with a few sneaky, stalker-style photos taken of my student houses. First stop was at my student residence, Y Garth. Vera never discovered this as we...

The Well Of Lost Blogs: July 2011
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Wednesday, 20 July 2011. Juvenile I know.but funny. Sunday, 17 July 2011. It's been back to the grindstone for me today after having a week off work. A whole ten days off, over in the bat of an eyelid. It's been good though. I wouldn't say I was ready to go back to work, but I was certainly feeling a little more relaxed and refreshed than I did.until I saw the mound of paperwork on my desk this morning. Depressing. So what did I do with my week? He was not amused. My grandparents ...

The Well Of Lost Blogs: March 2012
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Sunday, 11 March 2012. Story of a garden fork. I ended up with a hole straight through my foot (hence not wanting to fight over the high-heeled shoes- it hurt too much), a pair of leaky wellies and a story that gets retold every time I do First Aid training and the topic moves on to puncture wounds. The fork has been left in the garden to this day to serve as a reminder to me what happens when I don't listen to what my dad says.I have never disobeyed him since. It's been a while.

The Well Of Lost Blogs: July 2012
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Tuesday, 17 July 2012. A trip back in time. We were allowed to play with the old playground toys though- yoyos, diabolos, marbles (I still have my marble collection- don't tell anyone! My Mum and Auntie were like two young children. I was also faced by a 'Girls' World'- this was a hideous head and shoulders dummy of a girl with hair that extended out of the top of its head and an array of crayon make-up sticks. You can see a few more photos from the museum here. Labels: Museum of ...

The Well Of Lost Blogs: A little jaunt to see the Queen
http://welloflostblogs.blogspot.com/2012/06/little-jaunt-to-see-queen.html
The Well Of Lost Blogs. Thursday, 7 June 2012. A little jaunt to see the Queen. I thought it about time that I posted about my recent visit to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen. Not for the Jubilee, but for one of the Queen's Garden Parties. Earlier this year I was nominated as 'a worthy recipient of an invitation' by the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire (he obviously doesn't know me very well! When we reached Buckingham Palace we had to queue to enter.for quite a distance. And St John's Ambulance had t...
