Plantaholic's Garden Diary. Wordless Wednesday – Spring is springing! April 20, 2014. Well I’ve had a long absence, but the spirit has moved me back here again – or more likely all the flowers in the garden have prompted me to post again! Last year was so cold and snowy, but the plants almost all did amazingly well. This warm but very wet winter has seemed a little trickier than the cold, especially with bulbs and alpines, but on the whole things have survived pretty well. Phlox subulata Purple Beauty.

You're a killer and you know it. Change your destiny! Plants Not From My Garden. February 18, 2013. My husband knew not to buy me roses for Valentine’s Day, so he came home with these tulips instead. I love ’em. And then the flowers opened up two days later. February 7, 2013. Granted, this is winter so they wouldn’t be all gorgeous and blooming, but the leaves were turning black and crunchy way back in summer. Also, the canna lilies that are supposed to grow up to 4 feet tall never gained an in...Anyhoo,...

How can I despise the daffodil? | The Death-Proof Garden

You're a killer and you know it. Change your destiny! Plants Not From My Garden. How can I despise the daffodil? February 18, 2013. Daffodils are curious little fellows. The daffodil bulbs hide in your garden all summer and fall, then, when everything else is dying in the backyard, their leaves start poking out of the soil in winter. However, what always irked me about daffodils was the hysterically short display of blooms in spring–at least, the ones in. The pots were placed in various spots around the ...

Some of you follow my sisters blog and know that she does most of the cake decorating in our house but this is one of the three cakes that I did. My other cakes are on my SD card and won’t show themselves to my computer. Lol. But here is the One I had the most fun with . My sister had to help with some of the roses when (and because) my hand got cramped. I had considered putting a handle made of fudge on top of the cake but when we tried it was too heavy. 😦. Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. As I find them, I’ll share the blogs and websites that I like to read and find useful and I might not limit myself just to my allotment self…. First has to be My Tiny Plot. I followed this when it was a tiny allotment plot and then a small but beautifully formed vegetable garden in Bath and now a huge and well planned, soon to be gorgeous garden across the big pond. Full of inspirational photos. My go to allotment site is always allotments4all.
