THE DELHI WAY

http://www.thedelhiway.com/delhi_dayh.html

Walk around the complex that houses the world famous Qutub Minar, one of India’s oldest mosques and tombs of emperors from the Slave dynasty. Stroll through ruins of the 13th century on one end and browse though lanes that house Delhi’s young creative talent on the other end. An amalgamation that puts together the old and the new. Browse around some of Delhi’s local bazaars which sell anything from indo-western wear, accessories, books, jewellery to home furnishings. Approx 5-6 hrs (including travel time).

THE DELHI WAY

As the saying goes shop till you drop dead! Get lost in the maze of street shops, learn the art of bargaining the dilli-way, enter the gallis (alleys) to track down the hidden traders, take a break-bite with Delhi’s street food and continue the shopping journey. At the end of the day you would have a bag full of eclectic goodies, trinkets, souvenirs (at dirt cheap prices) that would make everyone happy back home. After all, paying a little for excess baggage is worth the while. Wear appropriate shoes as ...

THE DELHI WAY

Choose. Stitch. Wear. Design your own traditional outfit, be it a salwar kameez, a lehenga choli or a saree. Walk through a maze of fabric shops to buy material of your choice. Get caught in the psychedelic web of colors and patterns. Decide on the embellishments from a range of borders, linings and lace. Once you have everything in place, visit a local tailor who stitches your one-of-a-kind Indian outfit as per your design. For booking, costs and any queries call or email us at info@thedelhiway.com.

THE DELHI WAY

The tomb of the second emperor of the Mughal dynasty boasts of setting a precedence for the other Mughal architecture. Visit the serene gurudwara that’s located behind the tomb of Humayun. Walk through the narrow streets that lies in the midst of Tughlaq and Mughal structures. Come across the tombs from yesteryears, mosques and colorful bazaars. Dargah of Hazrat Nizamddin. The Delhi Way's Den: Bazaars & Markets of Delhi

http://thedelhiway.blogspot.com/2012/10/bazaars-markets-of-delhi.html

Saturday, 20 October 2012. Bazaars and Markets of Delhi. Here we're talking about markets that are mainly street shops, and not housed within the four walls of a mall building. And therefore, we say Delhi's markets have 'character'. Each is different from the other in terms of the kinds of outlets, the products they offer, the brands and the restaurants. Look out for cultural events and programs. Rs 20/- for an adult. Rs. 10/- for children. Sri Aurobindo Marg, Opp INA Market. JANPATH & TIBETAN MARKET.

Thursday, 6 September 2012. Delhi’s Rapid Development – The Rapid Transit System – Metro. I am in my car with an American friend who is vising Delhi from the USA. While he is excitedly devouring the sites of Dilli. In the moving car, the discussion went on to how Delhi maintains the magnificent balance between a progressive developed city and an enriched historical core. One such example that he alluded was that of the omnipresent Metro line that ran along the length of our journey. There is special ladi...

The Delhi Way's Den: 10 essential things to pack for your trip

http://thedelhiway.blogspot.com/2013/01/10-essential-things-to-pack-for-your.html

Sunday, 27 January 2013. 10 essential things to pack for your trip. We love the concept of a holiday - the planning, the exploring, the food you get to try, the people you get to meet, posing for the photographs, relaxing, getting to know another place's culture and lifestyle. the list can go on and on. The ONLY thing we dislike is the PACKING before we take off. Sitting on a flight and having that unsettling feeling that you've forgotten to pack something. Website: www.thedelhiway.com.

Monday, 26 November 2012. The Delhi Way Tours: Qutub Complex. A young bunch of Bangaloreans explore Delhi. It was a beautiful sunny day to walk through the Qutub complex.
