The Jigsaw Puzzle Puzzle | The Dementia Diary
https://thedementiadiary.wordpress.com/2012/06/23/the-jigsaw-puzzle-puzzle
Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; The Word Search. The Jigsaw Puzzle Puzzle. On June 23, 2012. Pieces of a puzzle (Photo credit: Wikipedia). For some weeks I’ve been talking to Husband about getting F i L a couple of jigsaw puzzles. The ones we have seen that have pictures that would appeal to F i L have way too many pieces (1,000 plus). Those that have fewer pieces have pictures on them that are aimed at toddlers. I haven’t been able to find a middle ground. June 23, 2012 at 8:34 pm. I actually ju...
The Brats | The Dementia Diary

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; The Corn Pads. On June 15, 2012. On Monday morning No. 3 Son went to visit F i L with his 2 youngest sons in tow. This is the son that F i L refers to as ‘Poor [No. 3 Son]’ because his life is (in F i L’s slightly deluded opinion) so hard. This is the son who was so hard up, F i L kept telling us, recently had to sell his second car (we had to sell ours a year ago) but has managed two holidays so far this year. I guess it’s not going to get done. 8221; said F i L.

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; The Medication Review. On July 28, 2012. Yesterday F i L had two medical appointments. The one at lunchtime was to have a heart recorder fitted for 24 hours. This was a follow up to a Cardiology appointment I had taken him to. We need to establish whether Aricept. 8220;When do I have to take this thing back to the hospital? 8220;I don’t know. I wasn’t with you so you need to speak to [No. 3 Son] about it”. 8220;What’s happening about this heart monitor? 8220;[No...

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; Father’s Day. On June 21, 2012. Last night while Husband and were out (I was making jewellery at my WI craft group and Husband was playing tennis) F i L phoned. It’s been a few weeks since our last panicked evening call. The only person in the house was Boy and when he saw, via the caller ID, who was calling he didn’t answer. It went like this:. 8220;Phoned him…[No. 3 Son and his wife] were there this morning. No 3 Son said no’. 8220;Hello [F i L]. Has the nurs...

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; The Jigsaw Puzzle Puzzle. On July 11, 2012. I haven’t been posting much lately because the volume of appointments and errands for F i L coupled with the volume of work at the moment, on top of Surgical extractions I’ve had done have more or less exhausted me. I’m due to go away, for the first time in a year, shortly but as we’re camping and the weather in the UK is diabolical right now that may not happen😦. 8220;Oh the doctor is giving me some special socks! 8220;...

The Alzheimer Roller Coaster | Page 2
https://alzheimerrollercoaster.wordpress.com/page/2
The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. January 20, 2014. If she was asleep and did not want to wake up, well; it was just best for both of us to let her sleep. Recent weeks have found mom mostly in a pleasant mood and responsive to my visits, communicative, but not always understandable. It dawns on me that Step Ball Change is another phrase for flexible! Then, I start receiving text messages from two of my daughters regarding a family issue that needs to be discussed. So it goes back and forth between readin...

The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. MILESTONES AND AH-HA MOMENTS. March 3, 2014. I also wanted to go to the Home Show at the county fairgrounds and talk to some people about some basement remodeling ideas. Yes, and most everyone knows that I (we) have not completed the projects that were started last year. But it is always good to dream and design right? Tomorrow, I will celebrate a milestone birthday. I will be eligible to collect Social Security! Who ever considered that would be a milestone to celebrate?

WE ARE MANY PARTS | The Alzheimer Roller Coaster
https://alzheimerrollercoaster.wordpress.com/2014/12/02/we-are-many-parts
The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. WE ARE MANY PARTS. December 2, 2014. My husband and I just went on a nine hundred mile (one way) road trip to visit one of our daughters for Thanksgiving. We shared the driving duties. While he drove, I slept or crocheted. While I drove, he worked on his laptop solving work issues. If he was on a conference call, it meant no radio for me. Totally alone with my thoughts on the open road. Not in hour when my drive time was up, but right now! Our roles in life are indeed many p...

STARTING A NEW CHAPTER IN MY LIFE | The Alzheimer Roller Coaster
https://alzheimerrollercoaster.wordpress.com/2014/07/21/starting-a-new-chapter-in-my-life
The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. STARTING A NEW CHAPTER IN MY LIFE. July 21, 2014. It has been three weeks since mom passed on to a better life. In the basement are her boxes of personal items waiting to be unpacked, but I am not ready to do that yet. Looking around the house, there is an endless number of things to do, but not today. Doing all this outdoor work gave me plenty of time for contemplating where I’ve been and what I should do next. Over the past eleven years I have made many half-hearted attemp...

The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. September 20, 2015. Neil diamond wrote a song for Elvis Presley and the first line starts with;. Listen easy and you can hear God calling. The time has come for me to continue the mission that I was given almost twelve years ago. You never know who God is going to put in your path and the purpose they will serve. The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. I eventually turned to a friend from high school, who had become a well known successful author. Not wanting to infringe on her time or our friendship, I just wanted a bit of advice. She suggested I should start blogging, but first I must read a lot of blogs, and study how they are written. So, I have read blogs about Alzheimer’s disease, ceramics, miniatures and gardening, blogs about writing and blogs about blogging! Welcome to the world of blogging! Thank you for visiting...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM | The Alzheimer Roller Coaster
https://alzheimerrollercoaster.wordpress.com/2014/04/18/happy-birthday-mom
The Alzheimer Roller Coaster. April 18, 2014. I wish you knew what a special day today is. I have to wonder if you knew the small bowl of pureed cake was for your 85. Birthday. Did you know the difference between the cake and the mashed potatoes? The nurses were telling me again how happy they are to see you eat so well. They say you have such a good appetite and so easy to feed. They all tell me how sweet and pleasant you are and they are glad to be a part of your care plan. Birthday Mom. I Love You!
