the edible edinburgh

A Melburnian's wee journey to finding Edinburgh's culinary gems. Monday, 16 January 2012. My last post - from Australia. This is a ridiculously delayed post. In fact, I haven't given this blog much of my time over the last 6 months at all. That's because I left Edinburgh to travel before returning home to Australia, and since this blog is about Edinburgh, well, I can't really keep this blog up. So, this is my last post, unfortunately. Monday, January 16, 2012. Links to this post. Thursday, 9 December 2010.

the edible edinburgh: October 2010

http://theedibleedinburgh.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

A Melburnian's wee journey to finding Edinburgh's culinary gems. Saturday, 23 October 2010. Great burgers in Edinburgh - a comparison of reputedly awesome burger joints. There are a few places in Edinburgh known for good burgers, although Grant and I haven't tried them all. The ones I know are:. The Cambridge Bar (Young St, New Town). Wannaburger (Queensferry St, West End). Gourmet Burger Kitchen (George St, New Town). The Holyrood 9A (Holyrood Road). But another disappointment: the chips. I know thi...

the edible edinburgh: Cosy salvation at the Westroom

http://theedibleedinburgh.blogspot.com/2010/12/cosy-salvation-at-westroom.html

A Melburnian's wee journey to finding Edinburgh's culinary gems. Thursday, 9 December 2010. Cosy salvation at the Westroom. The snow that's hit Edinburgh has really taken it's toll. I've been kind of torn. This is unprecedented for Edinburgh (snow, not poor coordination). I've been told it does snow, but not this much and not this early! After some time squatting in our lounge next to the one electric heater that we have, and rocking back and forth for a while longer, we sought refuge at the Westroom.

the edible edinburgh: September 2010

http://theedibleedinburgh.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

A Melburnian's wee journey to finding Edinburgh's culinary gems. Thursday, 16 September 2010. This isn't a confession of my habits. It's actually the pretty cool domain name for Naked. Naked is a small business that operates purely as a delivery service for their home style, locally-sourced, often organic meals with some gluten-free options. Another bonus of eating Naked - apart from the freshness, tastiness and lack of guilt associated with eating their food - is that you can pay by Paypal. The main dow...

Diary of an Ornery Consumer. The Demerits of Missing Toes – 2014 Writer’s Digest Short Story Competition Winner. June 15, 2016. I met Titus Marshall when I was two weeks shy of seventh grade and visiting my dull aunt and uncle down the country. When I came upon him, he was with a pack of kids wandering around Bloody Creek at the edge of town looking for a toe that had gone missing. A small fellow, about my age, pointed at a big boy sitting by the creek, My brother’s toe. It came off right about here.

Tell me below what you will be doing this weekend! I have been doing a lot of thinking about a major excuse that I see so many people use, and I use, too! I DONT HAVE TIME! I recently read that in order for you to create a life that you love you must rephrase this thought. It is so simple yet so dramatic! Big difference, right? Think abo...

William James, The Energies of Men, Science (1907). I’m not cooking at all lately. One handedness has rendered me rather clumsy in the kitchen.
