I hope that your 2016 was a awesome as mine! Let's start with the main goal this year, something that I put off till 2017:. 1 Find a Job. As you might know I was working till last January and it didn't work out with maternity leave and commuting. So I have official started the search, let's see how it goes. 2 Blog more often. Experiments of an Engineer outside the lab. The "Eid" Fondant Cupcake Toppers. A super late Ramadan Mubarak to all of you. You would think with all the free time that I have, I would be able to blog more regularly. Seems not! With my parents in town and awesome weather, I've been having a hard time getting into the kitchen and sitting down at my craft table, but once I got With a Spin. I couldn't wait to get to the kitchen quick enough! I am so glad that I came across her blog and also got to met her too!

The Engineered Baker: March 2016

http://theengineeredbaker.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html

Experiments of an Engineer outside the lab. The (simplest) Banana Bread. Last week I shared a pineapple upside down cake recipe, and was surprised it took so long for me to get to it! Another recipe that I almost as frequently as chocolate chip cookies is banana bread. There is almost always bananas browning in my fruit basket! The key to a great banana bread is ripened bananas, the blacker the skin gets, the taster the bread is! What makes this recipe simple? It's the fact that its a one bowl recipe!

Experiments of an Engineer outside the lab. Happy Mail Balloon Card. Are you guys sick of my "Happy Mail" themed cards! Fear not, this is the last one for a while, I have some birthday cards in the making along with some food posts! Hopefully all this blogging high lasts the next few weeks as I am going to be super busy with some out of town guests and weddings! This quick and easy card was inspired by this card posted on the Right at Home. This card is so simple to make! Thanks again, Nicole. I posted t...

The Engineered Baker: About Me

http://theengineeredbaker.blogspot.com/p/engineer.html

Experiments of an Engineer outside the lab. I'm the 20-something year old engineer behind this blog. I spend my days programming and baking/crafting by night. It took a little convincing and a bit of a push from some loving friends (you know who you are ;) ) to get the ball rolling. I have no formal training and all credit goes to the amazing bloggers, YouTube and close friends that took time to share their recipes and tips. Without all of them I would still be baking cakes from box mixes. April 15, 2013...

Pardon Muah: March 2015

http://www.pardonmuah.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Can you believe this coming Sunday is Easter? Time seems to be flying past me this year, which is great during the week, but can we please slow it down on the weekend? Especially this one, because my parents are coming to visit and I just can't wait! I don't get to see them near enough and I"m so happy they are coming to stay with Heidi and I to celebrate the holiday. I don't know about anyone else who is 26 years old, but I still get an Easter basket and I LOVE it! Happy Friday ...

Erica's Sweet Tooth » Double Chocolate Banana Bread

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2014/06/double-chocolate-banana-bread.html

Double Chocolate Banana Bread. June 11, 2014. I’ve posted a lot of colorful desserts in the past few weeks, which is very appropriate given the season and abundance of colors all around, but every now and then a simple, monochromatic dessert can be just as pleasing as the most rainbow-tastic one. Brown on brown on brown today – does that make you excited for summer? Here which is why it’s so beautifully dark, I love the contrast with the mini semisweet chips! I even stepped back enough to snap this photo...

Erica's Sweet Tooth » Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Truffles

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2013/04/healthy-peanut-butter-banana-chocolate-truffles.html

Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Truffles. April 24, 2013. Two weeks ago I gushed about my brother and fiance. Like all things made with banana, they definitely have a banana flavor to them, but I think that goes wonderfully with peanut butter and chocolate so I loved them. With a little over a month until the wedding, I’m trying to avoid sweets as much as I can resist, but with something like this I don’t have to feel badly! Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Truffles. 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Melt cho...

Erica's Sweet Tooth » Disney Princess Cupcakes

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2013/04/disney-princess-cupcakes.html

April 11, 2013. As many of you may know, I’ve taken an annual trip to Orlando with my brother Scott and fiance Ryan for the past 3 years. This year rounded out our 4th year of the spring break tradition, and since I’ve shared our trips in the past with Mickey Mouse Cupcakes. For the skirts of their dresses I replicated the technique I used for the anemone flower cupcakes. Because it truly makes them sparkle. Just like one of the little girls coming out of the Bippity Boppity Boutique! Of all the Disney p...

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2013/11/homemade-butterfinger-bars.html

November 6, 2013. Today you’re going to have to run to your nearest grocery store, pharmacy, or closet candy-selling facility and grab up a bag of discount candy corn because you. And I got to make mine into cute little cubes with fancy chocolate drizzles on top :). Recipe adapted from Buns in My Oven. 3 cups candy corn. 1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter. 1 cup crushed Frosted Flakes or Corn Flakes. Milk or semisweet chocolate chips or melting chocolate for dipping. Place candy corn in a microwave-safe bow...

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2014/01/chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-football-dip.html

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Football Dip. January 29, 2014. Superbowl Sunday is upon us. I couldn’t be more excited. Okay, that’s clearly a lie. I really couldn’t care less especially since I’m not from Seattle or Denver, but anything that involves forming sweets into inanimate objects to celebrate an event is fun for me! I’ve done engagement rings. And of course teeth. But no sports paraphernalia yet, so here we are! Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip. 2 cups all purpose flour. 1 cup brown sugar, packed.

Erica's Sweet Tooth » Red Velvet Cheesecake Layer Cake

http://www.ericasweettooth.com/2011/12/red-velvet-cheesecake-layer-cake.html

Red Velvet Cheesecake Layer Cake. December 12, 2011. But that’s not surprising considering this is a layer of creamy cheesecake sandwiched between two layers of moist red velvet cake – it was hard to go wrong. Apparently this recipe concept is borrowed from a staple on the Cheesecake Factory’s menu, the Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake. As if the inside of the cake is not beautiful enough, I decided to try out a frosting rose technique made famous by Amanda of i am baker. And topped it with a row of r...

When Opposites Attract | foibles, fables and follies

Foibles, fables and follies. What I’m Reading. Where to Find Me. As we have now lived in our house for quite some time, we have made considerable progress in unpacking, settling in, and slowly making the necessary renovations. Who said there’s no grass in Arizona? Our first house purchase was a grill. We bought it and put it together on the day we moved in. Priorities, people. After some un-assembling, it did fit in the back of the Focus. After HOURS of hard work. Nate 3’s Digging! The total of our week ...

Experiments of an Engineer outside the lab. Find the Beauty Card Trio. Why make one card when you can make three! That's just something I do when I get my supplies out to start crafting. I haven't had an unlimited amount of time to craft and that time is about to get shorter with my goal to get a job, but we make the best with what we have, right? It was a rather gloomy day here in the PNW and I thought I'd brighten the day using some color on my stamps. I used the Bits and Pieces: Winter. Watermark temp...

The Engineer - A Short Film

The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't are both right. Which one are you? The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall. What would you do if life put a mountain in front of you? The Engineer is a dark yet lovely short story about hope and perseverance. About always following your dreams no matter how impossible they may seem or how illusive the path to happeiness might appear. Notify me when it's ready. Thank you for your feedback!
