The Family

Friday, April 17, 2015. So, it seems blogging has taken a multi year slump. Thinking about resurrecting it again, as a sort of online journal sans the "oh look at me! Narcissism that Facebook seems to feed in me. Blogging also kept me current with fun memories or events without the melancholy that my personal journaling contains. And now, a picture. The Family: March 2011

http://thefamilyandmore.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Since I know that this blog is pretty much unread, I'm going to whine here instead of calling someone or posting it on Facebook for way too many people to think I'm, well, whiny. I'm tired of being at home with stinky bickering children in a messy house. That's the short story. Winter also needs to come to a freaking end. I have no idea how life is going to continue on a decent path once this baby is born, that first year is so demanding. School? Okay, end of whine. In A Shoe blog.

The Family: July 2009

Friday, July 24, 2009. Ready to be grossed out? Into the dishwasher you go. Time to get out the crockpot to make chili - oh barf! Rotten potatos in the cupboard! That was definitely the culprit. Move aside those grapefruits that I don't like and Dave hasn't eaten yet. Sigh. Throw away the moldy grapefruit. Links to this post. Labels: help help me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, November 03, 2009. It's Peter's one year birthday, or The Anniversary of the Day Ruth Felt The Worst Pain Ever In Her Life. I'm sure other women have experienced worse labor and deliveries. I even read about some woman that had a non-medicated c-section. But I seriously had a racing pulse and panicky feelings today as I thought back to November 3, 2008. Here's some free therapy to help me get over it. Finally admitted to the Birth Center! Just one small problem. The baby was face forward. Yes, t...

The Family: May 2010

Thursday, May 20, 2010. February. Huh. Didn't think it had been that long! Maybe I'll get some pictures up soon or post my review of kindergarten with Anna or a recipe or something. Something. I was just reading the Beatitudes in Matthew 5. It's really easy to pray for verses 3-9 - meekness, comfort, gentleness, righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, peace. Verses 10-11? I mean, it's not like I'd be rewording or falsifying Scripture. Wrong answer. I do. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

One More Project: Validated (Or Something Like That)

http://onemoreproject.blogspot.com/2010/01/validated-or-something-like-that.html

Thursday, January 21, 2010. Validated (Or Something Like That). But, the lack had not gone unnoticed. For the first two class days all I heard from a couple of the remaining students was that the class was "boring" now. Then, we had a day off from school and on Tuesday I was talking before class with students about what they had done with that whole day of freedom. The number one answer was a variation on the theme, "Nothing. It was boring.". I said that, but I thought this: free time is totally. I tried...

One More Project: December 2009

http://onemoreproject.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 25, 2009. Just Wasn't That Ham's Day. This Christmas was an interesting one. At 5 in the morning my eyes popped open when I realized I had no pan to cook the ham in. The only pan that would work for was currently housing one of three large batches of cookies from the day before. But then my dad pointed out that it was already fully-cooked, I was technically just supposed to be reheating it. In the end it turned out alright. Bobby even ate some (which is crazy), and we had fun opening...

One More Project: July 2009

http://onemoreproject.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 24, 2009. When we did our final walk-through Bob and I both noticed that the master bedroom was pink; a fact that had eluded us when the room was full of furniture. I don't have anything against pink necessarily, I actually quite like it, but it was a pretty bad, pink. And Bob was very interested in painting. So, we thought, yeah, we'll paint it and then move the last stuff. Tonight Bob did the ceiling in the closet. In three days they come back to texture (I think that's the plan anyway...

Saturday, May 30, 2009. This last week has been kind of crazy. There is the whole schedule issue with Bobby, but aside from that there have been other exciting and slightly ridiculous things happening as well. My friend contributes and I knit (did you guys know that? And I am learning (slowly) to spin. So I thought, "Hey, why not get one and see what it's all about? I can't wait to get the next one and see even more! But, really, I'm pretty sure my computers all want me have more yarn. . unless m...That ...

Friday, October 23, 2009. Photo Friday 10.23.09. Friday, October 16, 2009. Photo Friday 10.16.09. I'm including (mostly) brief explanations, because I hear that telepathic connections may not be as accurate via the internet. Something about competing bandwidth. This week I attended two of a set of three spinning classes. The last is tomorrow. The classes were done by the Anchorage Weavers and Spinners Guild. We lost (and later found) an elephant. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Month of Thanksgiving: Days 9 and 10. I didn't make it online last night because I got home at 12:30 and was dead tired. Matthew, Jessica, Hudson, Ramsey and Isla. Monday, August 6, 2012. We packed up and went to Yosemite with Papa Pete and that side of the family. We stayed at the "four seasons" which were perfect rooms with kitchenettes and an awesome outside area to play. Being outside without having to camp? Our first stop was Tunnel View overlooking half dome, quite a beautiful site. Traveling with kids without your spouse is HARD WORK! John, I wanna hold jer hand.". We then took a short (ha!
