70 in 15 Minutes. On April 11, 2006. Last month I entered the world of online banking. I took advantage of a referral link and opened an ING savings account. The interest rate is a respectable 4% and I received a $25 bonus in my account for opening it. Not bad. The way the ING referral program works is the refer-er gets a […]. The Price Book – Part I. Hello Again - The Family CEO
http://thefamilyceoblog.com/2017/03/hello-again
March 4, 2017. Tap, tap, tap…is this thing on? Is anyone still out there? It’s been nearly two years since I’ve written at The Family CEO, but recently I’ve felt compelled to check back in. When we last spoke. I told you that our family’s finances were on autopilot in the very best possible way. We had paid off a lot of debt, grown our savings, put one child through college without debt, and were working on doing the same for the second child. How do we want to spend our time? Intentional spending, which...

7689 in Found Money: April 2015 – February 2017. March 6, 2017. When I made the decision to start blogging here at The Family CEO again, I knew that found money. Would be a big focus. It’s such a little thing to do –. Capturing any amount of money that isn’t part of your main income stream(s) and giving it a job to do. 8211; but it’s done big. Things for our finances. Plus, it’s effortless, and even fun. And saving for our kids’ college funds. Here’s how the numbers break down:. 1663 Income tax refund.

Grrr Arg: Yet another reason to blog...
http://grrrarg.blogspot.com/2012/02/yet-another-reason-to-blog.html
He's no good. There are men, better men, wherein the mind is stronger than the penis.). Monday, February 20, 2012. Yet another reason to blog. I'm the new old kid on the block. I was a blogger for years, but stopped for a while when I sort of lost interest in everything. I came back to it during my divorce, on a small private blog, and found it was a great way to work through things. But after the divorce, I had no real desire to blog. It seemed to carry a negative connotation. Plus she had a contest.
Grrr Arg: Stop fighting yourself.
http://grrrarg.blogspot.com/2012/05/fighting-yourself.html
He's no good. There are men, better men, wherein the mind is stronger than the penis.). Thursday, May 31, 2012. Over the past few weeks, a robin has been flying into the windows multiple times a day. He first flies up to sit on the brick ledge along the lower edge of the windows, then he flies up against the glass. We can only assume that he thinks his reflection is another male robin invading his space. Robin flies up, to attack the second from the right window. We don't have bird-brains, at least most ...

He's no good. There are men, better men, wherein the mind is stronger than the penis.). Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Diet is a 4-letter word. This post is long and probably boring. But I'm writing it for myself. Sometimes you have to put things into writing so you can stop pretending to yourself. So I stood up for myself. I replied, "You used to criticize me for being too thin. And now I'm too fat. Perhaps someday I can be just right.". You're not fat. You're just plump.". Because it certainly didn't. ...
The Hardins: Party of Five: March 2014

Wednesday, March 5, 2014. What a month February was . It started normal but ended in a way that changed normal forever. I drove into Houston on the 11th with plans to stay until Thursday just to help them out at home after the surgery. She was sitting up in the hospital bed all dressed and in good spirits when I arrived. She had walked twice that morning and they were ready to dismiss her. About 7am on Friday I woke up and could hear mom and dad in their room. They are not early risers and I got up t...
“Write Drunk, Edit Sober” Is Bad Advice
http://goinswriter.com/write-drunk
On Writing, Ideas, and Making a Difference. Write Drunk, Edit Sober Is Bad Advice. Hemingway never wrote drunk. Despite the quote being misattributed. To him, the famous author apparently never said, Write drunk, edit sober. And if he did say it, he certainly didn’t practice what he preached. Ernest Hemingway Collection. John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Boston. He never wrote drunk, he never wrote beyond early, early morning. So why do people go on believing this about him? Such an idea, ...

http://bangsabeardandballyhoo.blogspot.com/2012/03/when-i-decided-to-focus-on-this-blog.html
When I decided to focus on this blog again, I thought that I would be posting more often. It’s a delicate balance between experiencing life on a daily basis and documenting it afterwards. There’s so many pictures on the camera and so many weekends spent taking short trips or running errands around home. I keep blaming it on Venus and Jupiter. I am an absolute champion at multi-tasking at work, and I keep making mistakes in that capacity too. So what is on my mind? Live in a big farmhouse. Learn how to sew.

The Hardins: Party of Five: December 2013
http://thehardin5.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 23, 2013. I love having my children right beside me and having them reach to hold my hand. 2 of three children learned to blow bubbles with gum during our trip. Paying a little more for a hotel on the monorail, and then getting the free dining plan was a.w.e.s.o.m.e! A week without t.v. and minimal screens is good for the soul. I believe the kids learned more with us this week than they would have in school. Impressing a 10 year old is very difficult. It's good to go and good to come home.
The Hardins: Party of Five: January Wrap Up
http://thehardin5.blogspot.com/2014/01/january-wrap-up.html
Friday, January 31, 2014. I started the year in San Diego for a week of work. Highlight of the trip: getting to spend one evening with the Lin family. We ate at Underbelly, a hip Pho restaurant. Does this picture say Campbell all over it? The girl can hold her own on the court too! These Doves don't cry. Campbell and her friends are having a great time on the court. Uh, hello Pistons. What is so exciting up there? So far, Alex and his team are 4-0. Company man. Playing the part in a contest!
The Hardins: Party of Five: June 2013
http://thehardin5.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 27, 2013. Posted by Kate in Austin. Monday, June 24, 2013. I guess it is a tradition that we stop in New Orleans for the night on our return trip from Destin. This time Alex took the express car ride with grandma and grandpa to Houston. We missed him a lot, but it was also nice to be with our girls. We ate at our favorite place, Mulates. We also walked the market both Friday and Saturday and ate Cafe DuMonde. We swam briefly in the hotel pool and just relaxed. Posted by Kate in Austin.
