The Farm River Angler: May 2016

http://thefarmriverangler.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html

The Farm River Angler. Pages Pond Waterfall circa 1976. Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Monday, late morning I headed to the Farmington River to spend a few hours fishing and hopefully avoiding the crowds that will surely accompany the Memorial Day Weekend. With the weather predicted to be sunny and hot this weekend, the river will come alive with not only fishermen, but an assortment of tubes, kayaks and canoes. Dave has a good one here. Nellie, Dave's Springer watching the action. Dave with a beauty. Moved a sh...

The Farm River Angler. Pages Pond Waterfall circa 1976. Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Farmington River Hat Trick 6-13-16. I also had to contend with the wind, which at times was blowing like a hurricane and I could see whitecaps on the river! My one brookie completed the Hat Trick! June 14, 2016 at 6:29 PM. A nice couple of hours there Pete. The wind has been a bit wild these last few days. June 15, 2016 at 2:45 AM. Yes it was a wee bit windy, but the fishing made it enjoyable. The Farm River Angler: Browns and Bows

http://thefarmriverangler.blogspot.com/2016/07/browns-and-bows.html

The Farm River Angler. Pages Pond Waterfall circa 1976. Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Today I visited a small stream, hoping the rain overnight helped to refresh the stream a bit. I was fishing a sz, 16 Partridge and Peacock soft hackle and found a nice holdover rainbow in a deep run. I moved upstream to fish another stretch and was rewarded with an handful of wild browns, bringing a few to hand and having some LDR's . The water had come up a bit and was a little off color. A rewarding trip this morning.

Trout Quest Redux: 2015's first fish

http://rkm-troutquest.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015s-first-fish.html

Friday, January 2, 2015. Yesterday 2015 was rung in with our customary New Year's Day fishing trip. This year four of us were greeted with sub-freezing temperature and patches of ice on the stream. Undaunted, we worked our way upstream and back, landing a few wild brookies along the way. In spite of the cold it was a good time on the water. January 2, 2015 at 7:41 PM. The clarity of the water in that first pic is awesome. The brookie is to. Remember 15 inches. January 2, 2015 at 9:00 PM.

Trout Quest Redux: November 2014

http://rkm-troutquest.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 26, 2014. The leaves can wait. After meeting Mark midday at one of our favorite small brooks, I was treated to fish that were inspired by size 18 parachute patterns (like the Purple Haze that Mark loaned me). Unfortunately the water level is still very low, a somewhat depressing sight. At least we were able to see up close some of the stream's beautiful inhabitants. Saturday, November 1, 2014. Sunday, December 7, 2014. December 8, 2014 at 9:06 AM. Was a fun day out! That stream produces some very sizeable brookies for sure. December 8, 2014 at 5:00 PM. Ya, those have some size to um! Good photos, they capture the colors on the fish and the stream very well. December 9, 2014 at 12:16 AM. Wow, look at the colors on those fish! Incredible.
