Faux Finishes – Venetian Plaster. July 23, 2011. The railing was white and did not look great with the interior design of the home. The upper part is wood and the bars are iron. Before I faux finished the railing they added black middle pieces to the bar which made them look really nice. For the background I was using a very dark brown; then a darker glaze and for the final touch a light golden wash over it. Railing before the faux finish. It was all white.
