Reflections of the Siskiyou Union High School District presented by Superintendent: Mike Matheson. Thursday, April 26, 2012. The team at TED has assembled an amazing new resource that can be very useful for learners of all ages. Take a look at the TED-Ed Introduction video. The web is providing people with the opportunity to create, share, and organize thoughts, ideas, and information in ways that can open doors to the world that were hard to imagine only a few years ago. New Tools for a New Age: QUIKMAPS
http://newtoolsforanewage.blogspot.com/2008/02/quikmaps.html
New Tools for a New Age. Monday, February 11, 2008. This one is fun. It is called Quikmaps. And oddly enough you can check it out at quikmaps.com. I made a map that shows you how to get to the local McDonalds from our school. The directions are a little lacking but if you play around with it for a few minutes you and your kids will figured it out. I can see using this to map the route Columbus took to get to the Americas, mapping the Triangular Trade, Civil War battles and much more. Cool Cat Teacher Blog.

The first is a site called LOST IN THE WOODS, THE 9 RULES FOR SURVIVAL. It explains what to do if you get: lost in the woods. It's written for children and adults. The nine rules are clear and easy to understand. Being a city boy I learned a lot. February 4, 2011 at 6:19 PM. December 1, 2012 at 7:02 PM. December 1, 2012 at 9:44 PM.
