100 Reasons for a Happy Christmas. | The Office Window

https://theflyingpiano.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/100-reasons-for-a-happy-christmas

The journey from reality to a dream. 100 Reasons for a Happy Christmas. I guess you could almost describe it as being a bit like a job really. set the alarm clock, join the traffic, go to work, do your daily bits and pieces, and then when all is finished you drive home again. If one would refer to it as a job however, it really is without question the best job in the world. All the Very Best. This slideshow requires JavaScript. By Anthony on December 19, 2011. Can you really learn Portuguese from an iphone? | The Office Window

https://theflyingpiano.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/can-you-really-learn-portuguese-from-an-iphone

The journey from reality to a dream. Can you really learn Portuguese from an iphone? In the time since, I have decided to accommodate myself with ‘Simple Portuguese Phrases’ iphone app, in the hope of educating my brain with at least a few bits and bobs of significance I guess time will tell…! Up to this point, this blog has told about the journey to get to where I am now- But at long last (and it has been a wee while eh? I’m finally line qualified on a Commercial Airliner. Let life begin🙂. Notify me of...

The journey from reality to a dream. It is not uncommon as I understand it, from FTE we me all be at different airlines but we’re all on the same airwaves. So with the jumpseats over now I guess the next step awaits. On friday my roster will come out and the dates and base for my line training will be revealed. Slightly apprenhensive yes. but finally at long last I’m going to be doing that very job for real. which all that pain, stress and work has been all about. By Anthony on December 5, 2011.

Before Door Checklist. | The Office Window

https://theflyingpiano.wordpress.com/2012/04/11/before-door-checklist

The journey from reality to a dream. Since having lived here just over a week I decided to make the short trip yesterday into town and experience the city of Porto for the first time. Together with a vibrant Old Town, and a rich history of distilling Port the city certainly lives up to its reputation and thats before we’ve come to its Football! There is now a checklist on the front of my door which includes amongst other thing: ‘Keys’. I guess it could be worse! Back in a bit…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

What is it with me and Rain? | The Office Window

https://theflyingpiano.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/what-is-it-with-me-and-rain

The journey from reality to a dream. What is it with me and Rain? Currently the lifestyle out here at the moment, when I’m not flying, weather permitting its a trip to the beach (/or the pool… the appartment has both! If its niether of those two the tremendous Captain Carlos will then suggest go karting, or if none of these are the case it will be the Stansted home and spending a few days off indulging in Roast Beef and Green and Pleasant Land. If it snow’s on the other hand- well we’ve had it.

Life as a Pilot: June 2012

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Sunday, 17 June 2012. Countdown to the skies begins! There isn't much to report this week actually! It's been quite productive in reducing the number of simulator sessions remaining but apart from that quite uneventful. Just the small matter of finishing top of the group and avoiding Spain now! Having said that, with last night's results (Russia and Poland being eliminated) anything could happen! Monday, 11 June 2012. It's been a week of bits and bobs! Not muc...

Life as a Pilot: September 2011

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Wednesday, 28 September 2011. A surreal weekend - one I'm going to find hard to describe; certainly the most difficult post to date and most likely the most difficult for some time. Since the last update six more days have passed and I'm guessing it's getting a bit boring me repeating the usual "it's going so fast" comment but it really is! Friday was therefore spent revising and trying to avoid the rumour mill as much as possible. After an 'eventful' Friday a...

Life as a Pilot: January 2012

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Monday, 30 January 2012. Flying. It's been a while since I've used that word on a regular basis but recently it has featured more and more in my vocabulary. Let me talk you through what stage I am at the moment and what I need to be at in now only a few weeks time. With my FAA PPL check ride now on the horizon having completed the mock yesterday I'm looking forward to knocking down the final days of my single engine flying one by one. It was an almost repeat f...

Life as a Pilot: Like a homesick angel

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2012/07/like-homesick-angel.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Tuesday, 24 July 2012. Like a homesick angel. Finally, after three months firmly planted on the ground I've managed to get back into the aircraft and put some hours on the metre. So, after enjoying ourselves in Dublin for ten days we headed down to Cork. The weather over the past couple of weeks has been much improved and we have benefited massively from this during the flying stage here in the south west of the country. With the new plane come new procedures,...

Life as a Pilot: August 2011

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Sunday, 28 August 2011. This week I took my JAA PPL progress test. The actual flight is treated very much like the name suggests - a test; although when returning to the ground it is run through very much like a normal lesson would be with pointers, tips and suggestions to help the student improve his/her piloting skills. Than Runways 5/23 here in Melbourne! It was great to get feedback from another instructor who was able to offer different advise that those ...

Life as a Pilot: March 2012

http://life-as-a-pilot.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Life as a Pilot. Flying - it beats working". Thursday, 22 March 2012. Knocking down the hours while the results arrive.Part I. Since the last update there have been developments both in the air and on the ground. Firstly, and most importantly, the final ATPL results arrived last week and I'm happy to say all have been satisfactorily complete with the needed percentage gained. They're the largest and most feared part of the training - something I am glad to never have to see again! It was great to finally...

Stretching a 747 upper deck | The world of Globalste

https://globalste.wordpress.com/2013/05/16/stretching-a-747-upper-deck

The world of Globalste. Stretching a 747 upper deck. No this isn’t about the 747-8i. It is about what the likes of KLM and JAL did back in the 80s to make their 747s more like the 747-300 series. This article that I found. Is quite fascinating as it shows how it was all done in the 80s. The 747-8i is actually has 2 fuselage plugs fore and aft of the wing, and the wings, engines and flightdeck are quite different. Now there is the super-stretch that is the 747-8i.  Lufthansa are the main airline ...You ar...

The Flying Pig Providore |

January 15, 2014. Pasture raised, chemical free bacon. Flying Pig Bacon is made locally in Sydney using genuine pasture raised pork from NSW farms. We make bacon in a ‘green’ style, meaning it’s unsmoked, retaining the soft appearance of fresh pork. All of our products are made without chemical nitrites (additives 250 or 251), so when cooked, it won’t be the pink colour you may be used to. Flying Pig bacon grills up closer to the colour of a juicy pork chop.
