Chickpea Curry | The Food Processor
https://thefoodprocessor.wordpress.com/2011/01/12/chickpea-curry
January 12, 2011. A curry is a curry is a curry, or so I thought. My arsenal of weeknight recipes contained two curries: eggplant. For summer and squash. For winter. I’m excited to add this recipe as my third, but certainly not final, curry. As I was paging through a new cooking magazine. A gift subscription from Glenn’s grandma), I was drawn to a recipe for chicken vindaloo. 1 Tbs curry powder. 4 Tbs red wine vinegar. 8 cloves garlic, minced. 1 Tbs minced ginger. 1 yellow onion, sliced thin. Combine cur...
Gnocchi | The Food Processor
https://thefoodprocessor.wordpress.com/2011/01/18/gnocchi
January 18, 2011. So when Glenn and I decided to make gnocchi for the first time, I consulted the usual suspects for a recipe: Mark Bittman,. The proportions and technique were pretty consistent across the board, but one recipe stood out. This recipe. Recommended baking the potatoes rather than boiling them to control the moisture content. That sounded pretty logical to me and the recipe came with an instructional video, so I was sold. Follow this recipe for The Best Gnocchi. The name says it all. Melt 2...

Newer posts →. A Thai Dish That Ties One On. January 11, 2011. I had Thai food for the first time when I was 16 years old and it took me almost 10 years to realize that drunken noodles were not relegated to Typhoon! In Portland, OR. I’m happy to say that it only took me two additional years to realize that I could easily replicate the dish at home. Cup roasted red chili paste. 2 Tbs soy sauce. Sriracha sauce to taste. 1 Tbs minced garlic. 1 Tbs minced ginger. 1 pkg extra firm tofu, pressed and cubed.

Starting Youngs: August 2011
http://startingyoungs.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. In loving memory of my fur-baby. I think this post is much more for me than for any of you. I need to spend a little blog-space on my little one. One month ago I said good-bye to Buddy. And I know lots of you loved him and didn't get the chance to say good-bye to him so I wanted to make a place to do that out here in cyber space. A few weeks later we all rendezvoused at the new house in Guyton and Buddy was really starting to love his new digs. A big yard, some friendly neigh...

Here are some tips and strategies that I've developed:. Doesn't have to be perfect. Just do it. 3 Dedicate areas for NO moving related things. More boxes than you thi...

Wednesday, October 19, 2011. So long, Argyle St. Kitchen! Here it is. My long awaited LAST blog post from the Argyle St. Kitchen. I can't wait to leave this ugly stove and cramped quarters. Next time you hear from me it will be from my beautiful sparkly new Eastwood Ave. kitchen. Oh, I just can't even wait! Amidst the boxes and cleaning, I made time to make these blueberry muffins per request of my better half. For my farewell to Argyle tribute, I share with you. With two topping options! It's to die for!
Starting Youngs: April 2011
http://startingyoungs.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 17, 2011. Starting to use wedding gifts! Perfect, we'll grab our Manchego cheese and a few tomatoes and be on our way. Oh yeah, and we are out of salsa. Por favor, senior, donde esta la salsa? No, no tenemos. Argh Oh hey, Elizabeth gave us that salsa maker thing. We can probably try that thing out. And so we did. Started with an array of fresh ingredients: onion, lime, green pepper, roma tomatoes, garlic, cilantro. Added a few pantry staples: balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, paprika. 1 small...
Possum Casserole: January 2010
http://possumcasserole.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 7, 2010. It's not snowing now, but it did snow a few weeks ago! When I did get home, I had a nice Christmas, and finally got around to reading Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Mineral. However, she writes beautifully, includes great information about farm life, and makes some very convincing arguments against factory farming, eating vegetables out of season, and even (gasp! Though with caveats, of course). 2 lbs Sweet Potatoes. 1/2 Cup Milk (Whole or Low fat- I used low fat).
Possum Casserole: December 2009
http://possumcasserole.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 4, 2009. A Very Martha Thanksgiving. I have never been responsible for a Thanksgiving turkey before. Last year, that was Andrew's job (I made the pumpkin cheesecake, the green bean casserole, and the crescent rolls). This year, I was feeling ambitious. It started with the turkey. I ordered a turkey from Deep Roots. The pie was by far the most ornate pastry I've ever constructed. The pate brisee crust, though properly chilled, was very difficult to work with. (It, in fact, was the...Once ...
Possum Casserole: The Pit
http://possumcasserole.blogspot.com/2009/08/put.html
Thursday, August 6, 2009. Last Friday, Andrew and I went to Raleigh to pick up Jamey from the airport (Jamey is going to be working as John Irving's literary assistant this year, true story). Before we picked her up, we drove to Raleigh for lunch and to visit the NC Museum of Art. The NC Museum of Art. 160;was ok. There were some Andrew Wyeths and a Georgia O'Keefe, but much of what I wanted to see (the Egyptian collection and the ancient Greek collection) were closed for renovation. Was going to The Pit.
Possum Casserole: To Eat at Subway or to Not Eat at Subway: My Chain Restaurant Guilt
http://possumcasserole.blogspot.com/2009/09/to-eat-at-subway-or-to-not-eat-at.html
Tuesday, September 1, 2009. To Eat at Subway or to Not Eat at Subway: My Chain Restaurant Guilt. That summer, another thing had happened: the Olive Garden had arrived in Columbus! The Olive Garden, with their Never-Ending Salad and their overpriced cocktails put a chokehold on our little business, and I don't think it really ever recovered. I don't know why. Probably. Did the vegetables on my sub probably come from another country? Of course. Does Subway need my help to stay afloat as much as the Jib...

The Foodprint | Simple steps towards sustainable eating
Simple steps towards sustainable eating. RECIPE: Poached pear, blue cheese and walnut salad. May 20, 2013. Is a family-owned winery in the Adelaide Plains. TOP FIVE: Farmers markets in Melbourne. May 19, 2013.
