Blogging, Near Philadelphia: July 2014
http://nancynearphiladelphia.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2014. An email from sweet Janet. Started my day off right. She wrote to say that my current Former Leader Ender Blocks remind her of a birthday party. Me, too. Except I didn't know it. Have found a solution to yesterday's "problem" of not wanting the blocks to end. I'm going to make four more and figure a lay-out to make a queen-sized quilt for our bed rather than the medium-to-large unspecified quilt for unspecified recipient that I'd been planning. So happy to be on this path! There ...

Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting: String Orchestra
http://saneandcrazy.blogspot.com/2015/08/string-orchestra.html
Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting. 30s Stashbuster Bin Bust 2015. Friday, August 7, 2015. It needs to go into the washing machine and dryer and then into the donation quilt box. I made 48 string blocks from scraps last year and part of this year as part of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I normally use muslin as the foundation for my string blocks but this time I used paper and made 8 inch blocks. Twenty-four blocks was enough for two child-size donation quilts. This was my goal #9. Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting: My Spin on Vintage Spin
http://saneandcrazy.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-spin-on-vintage-spin.html
Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting. 30s Stashbuster Bin Bust 2015. Monday, August 10, 2015. My Spin on Vintage Spin. The top is complete. This is called Vintage Spin in Kathy Doughty's book Adding Layers - Color, Design and Imagination. There's nothing vintage about the fabrics I used. I'll have to find another name for the quilt.hmmmm.Head Spin, Tail Spin, Whirlwind. Well, I usually don't name quilts so no matter. I definitely need to fit sewing in there somewhere. Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times. Augus...

joe tulips quilts: odds and ends.....
http://joetulipsquilts.blogspot.com/2015/08/odds-and-ends.html
And other things too. Sunday, August 2, 2015. My cousin Max has me sucked into the Row by Row Experience. The Winnebago is from The Quilted Forest in Forest City where they make the motorhomes. When they gave me the pattern, I was in a hurry and only half listened to what I was being told about Row by Row. Then Max was sending me photos of kits she was finding. When I finally investigated and saw done quilts with all the rows, I fell in love with them. Land of sky blue waters. More left over sections fro...

http://strawberrypatchquiltworks.blogspot.com/2015/08/and-sew-on.html
04 August, 2015. I've been catching up on a few projects and planting seeds for a new one. Yes, the seeds have already begun to sprout on the Hexie Garden. Quilt, you can see two blocks up on the design wall; in the foreground are more tumblers. There will be two tumbler charm quilts in my future; the first flimsy was completed last week, I'm on a roll! I've decided that we need to keep a quilt in each car, just in case of an emergency. AAA. Suggests that a blanket. How are keeping cool this summer?

joe tulips quilts: a trip to New Ulm....
http://joetulipsquilts.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-trip-to-new-ulm.html
And other things too. Monday, May 25, 2015. A trip to New Ulm. We went up to New Ulm, Minnesota on Saturday. We were meeting up with my mom, three sisters and a brother-in-law. My mom grew up here. It is where Grandma and Grandpa lived. It was time to decorate graves. Ernest was mom's uncle. One of my sisters asked,. What did he die from? Mom said, "Old age". Silence for a minute. Then the math was worked out. WAIT, he was only 56! We sisters are right around that age! It is darn cute in person. They had...

joe tulips quilts: September 2014
http://joetulipsquilts.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
And other things too. Monday, September 29, 2014. The old star quilt. Yesterday morning I sent a text to Crispy asking for a picture of the old quilt with the new binding. This photo came back. It took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. Oh geez, he is still in bed, and this isn't exactly what I was thinking for a photo. He tried again when he got up. I think they are 12 inch HST's forming the star. The blue and red checks at the top and bottom are 4 inches. Sunday, September 28, 2014. This ...

Purple Boots and Pigtails: Gravity Project: Eclipse
http://purplebootsandpigtails.blogspot.com/2015/07/gravity-project-eclipse.html
Purple Boots and Pigtails. Sunday, 26 July 2015. Ah yes, Block 8: Eclipse. The only block that gave me trouble. This set was a Bonnie Tyler throw back: It was a total eclipse of the. Loved that when I was much too young to understand it, but she had fabulous hair didn't she with that whizzy, electric blue line coming out of her ears on the cassette cover? Heard it just the other day on the radio, surprising that 25 years later (or maybe even 30? Did I pause and reflect on past errors and exercise caution?
