Mighty Distractible: February 2014
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
All The News That's Fit To "Print". It's no secret that news sources in the United States are woefully inadequate - at least for those who care about actual news. It's partisan (if speaking about national politics), nationalistic (if speaking about news in general), and shallow (if speaking about anything else). Recently, Jane Harman, former US Representative from California, was on MSNBC discussing a task force recommending that the NSA stop collecting phone records. Important stuff, right? Which does a...

Mighty Distractible: Allergies, Be Damned!
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2014/05/allergies-be-damned.html
Allergies, Be Damned! The smell of lilacs is like the nectar of the gods. The sad thing is, it only lasts about a week. So, what is one to do? Well, in my case, I take a trip to Madison's Arboretum and stick my face in blooming lilacs for about an hour and a half. By the time I'm done, I've gotten my lilac fix (and I've sneezed my head off) and don't feel quite as bad when the blooms start to brown and drop. So, let's start with the Arboretum. My friend didn't sneeze as much as me. Blue skies and sun!

Mighty Distractible: Is it Spring yet?
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2012/02/is-it-spring-yet.html
Is it Spring yet? Feb 18, 2012 - in Madison, WI. Crazy. As many of you know, Cassandra and I live in Madison, Wisconsin. However, this winter we've been blessed with the fruits of global warming and are enjoying the mildest winter since I moved here in 1996. When I walked out of the house on Saturday and the sun hit my face, I had an automatic response that went something like this:. Step 1 - Add...
