Great American Roadtrip

Saturday, March 29, 2008. And, sadly, this is where it ends. I'm sorry to report, dear readers, that the Great American Roadtrip has been cancelled, or at the very least postponed. There are all sorts of personal reasons for this decision - gas prices. Being near the very top. With gas expected to be topping $4 this year, and us travelling more than 5,000 miles it seemed silly. Another tipping point for me personally is the bail-out of Bear Stearns. Friday, March 21, 2008. It all started with a couch.

Great American Roadtrip: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

http://www.thegarofalifetime.blogspot.com/2008/03/we-make-living-by-what-we-get-but-we.html

Friday, March 14, 2008. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Winston Churchill Memorial and Library, Fulton, MO. How can we skip the Churchill Museum? He was one of the world's greatest leaders. This is where he first mentioned the Iron Curtain falling across Europe. World leaders have spoken here. And most important - it's on the way between STL and KC. Yeah, we're SOOOO going. He's still not American! That's all I gotta say. March 14, 2008 at 12:31 PM. AZ - FLW's Taliesin.

Great American Roadtrip: O.K. Corral, okay?

http://www.thegarofalifetime.blogspot.com/2008/03/ok-corral-okay.html

Saturday, March 1, 2008. OK Corral, okay? Tombstone, AZ Thinking that because we're in the neighborhood that we should add in Tombstone. Apparently, the gunfight didn't really happen at the O.K. Corral, but rather, up the street a bit. But, it'd be supercool to see it anyway. I'm watching. As I type, and it's not *all* that great. But, still - Boot Hill Cemetery! Creepy Doc Holliday and issues-ridden Wyatt Earp! You were expecting a different response perhaps? March 2, 2008 at 3:16 PM. AZ - FLW's Taliesin.

Great American Roadtrip: The best ice cream in the country. Really? Let's find out.

http://www.thegarofalifetime.blogspot.com/2008/03/best-ice-cream-in-country-really-lets.html

Tuesday, March 18, 2008. The best ice cream in the country. Really? With a statement like that, surely we need to verify it. Apparently, they serve Blue Bell Country. And we'll be driving right through it. Hah. They also give creamery tours. And one is a juuuuuust a wee bit off the beaten path between Wichita and Oklahoma City. And, even if we don't get to visit the creamery, I'm sure we'll be stopping often to sample. I just became an official member of the Blue Bell Club. March 19, 2008 at 10:10 AM.

Great American Roadtrip: Favorite Meal of the Day

http://www.thegarofalifetime.blogspot.com/2008/03/favorite-meal-of-day.html

Sunday, March 2, 2008. Favorite Meal of the Day. My job this trip is to find interesting places to eat. Let's face it. I'm the one who needs to eat on a semi regular schedule, else I get cranky. So it's only fitting that my job is to schedule the meals on our Great American Roadtrip. I know at least one person who has professed to loving breakfast any time of day. Therefore, first up is Pancake Pantry. Founded in 1960, it's the first pancake house in Tennessee. March 3, 2008 at 9:31 AM. I've have heard t...

Great American Roadtrip: It all started with a couch...

http://www.thegarofalifetime.blogspot.com/2008/03/it-all-started-with-couch.html

Friday, March 21, 2008. It all started with a couch. Or, rather, my quest for one. I needed to furnish my new house, and Joy suggested North Carolina. "It's the furniture capital," she said. So we drove through a blizzard from NYC to North Carolina, to visit. Joy's parents, not to mention 7 furniture stores in 2 days. . And there it was. It was the 7. Think about it, and I changed my mind at least two dozen times. So to distract me, Joy and I started talking about a trip. Yes, the Great American. In whic...

John's Blog: Sad Day for Green Bay Packer Fans

http://littlejohnboy.blogspot.com/2008/03/sad-day-for-green-bay-packer-fans.html

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Thursday, March 06, 2008. Sad Day for Green Bay Packer Fans. I know I'm a little late in blogging about this. I can't help it that by the time I get home I really don't want to spend a lot more time in front of a computer. Now two questions remain. First, what will become of the Packers now? Second, what will Brett do with his time? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://littlejohnboy.blogspot.com/2008/03/wisconsin-news.html

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Monday, March 24, 2008. Two quick things before I go to bed. 1 Several weeks ago, Madison broke the record for seasonal snowfall. This weekend we apparently made it over 100 inches of snow this season. I definitely don't think that record is going to get shattered any time soon. 2 Johnny Depp is in Wisconsin! He and Christian Bale (! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Monday, February 12, 2007. I Hate Valentine's Day and Other Musings. Anyway, I'm hoping to see lots of snow, although that means digging my car out will be a pain. That also means I should drive it in to campus either Wednesday or Thursday so that when the plow comes through, my car isn't buried under more snow. We'll see what happens. Let's see. What else? A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Well, it's been over a month since I last posted, so I figured it was time to update this blog. I don't know why I'm so bad at updating this thing lately. I guess nothing of much importance has been happening in my life. Well, that and I blog nearly every day on TVGuide.com, so that takes up a lot of my writing time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Mother Nature is a cold-hearted bitch. Two largish snowstorms in just under a week. I'm telling you. Mother Nature is definitely a cold-hearted bitch. Boo, that's just not fair! Are you going to have a spring at all, or will you go from stupid snow to really hot summer quickly? I'm not familiar with WI climatology.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Thursday, January 18, 2007. Cold Snap and Other News. This is why I'm not going to be a forecaster. I mean, the only place that I think it would probably overqualify me for a job is in fast food. I was quite surprised and happy to see that. Apparently someone thought what I wrote was worthwhile. So, feel free to go check it out either at tvguide.com. Thursday, January 11, 2007. I've ...

John's Blog: I am such a slacker!

http://littlejohnboy.blogspot.com/2008/05/i-am-such-slacker.html

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Friday, May 09, 2008. I am such a slacker! With this blog anyway. My life, however, is filling up quite nicely. I had a yen back when I was in Pennsylvania to act in a play, but I couldn't bring myself to try out there. Plus, the only amateur theater seemed to be NRT, which was good, but since I wasn't a student when I wanted to act, I didn't feel right auditioning. And on that note,...

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Sunday, March 30, 2008. I forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but it deserves its own post on merit alone. I just recently got the reprints for an article I worked on while I was at Penn State. I'm actually published! That is all. Just a short post to celebrate. :). Yay for being published! Congrats on being published :) Is this the radar stuff or the Ray stuff?

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Politics, anniversaries, and other random stuff. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with the results. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if Clinton won either, but Obama winning makes me just a tiny bit happier. Are still very prejudiced. I think analyzing the exit polls would be a fascinating sociological study. And on that odd note, this entry comes to a ...

A blog of random musings and rantings that really have no rhyme or reason to them. Kind of like the goings-on in my brain. Monday, May 26, 2008. I got a call shortly after I woke up this morning about one of our cats back home. Apparently she had died this morning after having a seizure. My sister, unfortunately, had watched it all. So, here's to Mitzu. At least she's in peace now. Friday, May 09, 2008. I am such a slacker! With this blog anyway. My life, however, is filling up quite nicely. However, thi...
