26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's: Bird on a Wire
http://aubreycalvin.blogspot.com/2010/01/bird-on-wire.html
26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Bird on a Wire. Friends, we're down to the wire. Just 5 days from now we will lace up our shoes, say a little Hail Mary, and run the race. I can't claim that we've been perfect in our training program, but we've run a long, long way in the past six months to get ready. On Sunday, we each did our last long run - happily only six miles. 26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's: Jingle Bells
http://aubreycalvin.blogspot.com/2009/12/jingle-bells.html
26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. We have been busy getting ready for Christmas, having family in town, and pounding the pavement. Our furthest run to date has been 17 miles - miserable - but we're looking forward to a 20 mile run this coming weekend. So, while you're relaxing in your pjs and playing with your Christmas presents, think of us out there running, and running, and running . I hope the season is wonderful for you and your family, and I'll let you know how it goes!

26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's: Misery
http://aubreycalvin.blogspot.com/2009/12/misery.html
26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's. Saturday, December 26, 2009. Anyway, we did finish, and if we walked a little, well, I am still counting it. We moved our bodies over a 20 mile path. We never hailed down a passing car for a lift, we never banged on the front door of the houses we were passing to beg for help, and I only gave in to defeating negativism half a dozen times. So overall, a major success. Brad, Carla, Addison and Hudson. December 27, 2009 at 6:20 PM. Congratulations on 20 miles! This year, Ma...

26 Miles of Pain for Parkinson's. Sunday, December 6, 2009. So we both ran the whole thing and even felt pretty good afterwards. And then we pretty much spent the whole rest of the weekend on the couch napping (me) and icing achy joints (Matt). But I feel like we have our marathon mojo back and are getting excited for the actual race. Thanks so much for for all the kind words of encouragement - we need it! And I looked back and our application has only been in for 5 weeks! Seems like a lot longer than that. Please help us. We would really appreciate it! I have...

I know it will be a challenge to explain why we had to pay so much money but what a great way to explain that everyone loves them so much that they wanted to help. I will update how it went although I know it will be great! A Fall Day at Hanging Rock. And then there were five . And then there were six .

Thursday, February 3, 2011. Just wanted to update that we heard from the ABBA fund and we were blessed with a no interest loan that is a huge help toward the cost of the adoption. Our Adoption Story: February 2011
http://kabclb.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 22, 2011. I finally submitted our stuff for the online profile. It should take about 30 days or so to get it posted. When it is I will post on here if anyone would like to go to Gladney site or parent profiles.com to see it. Their names are Fran and Dan also Jason and Janet. Last little tidbit Gladney recieved the check from the ABBA fund so we are $5000.00 closer to paying for the adoption! The other cool things was that the check was written on Valentine's day:). This wait has so far ...

http://kabclb.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. A lot of work to be done. Well now that we are approved we have a lot of work to do. Not that I am complaining at all. The 2 most important things we need to do is get the profile done and complete our application for the ABBA fund. We also need to sign up for some classes. Infant CPR and Baby Care Basics. Not too excited about the baby care basics (I imagine a lot of pregnant women in the class do you think I will stand out? But it is a requirement so to class we will go.
