Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: November 2010
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 30, 2010. For the last few months, I've been taking a virtual class with Margaret Moorehead. For those of you who don't know Margaret, she is the exclusive Internationally Accredited Jenny Haskins Tutor. If you've never taken a class from Margaret, if you have the opportunity, grab it! She's a wonderful, knowledgable teacher and so creative. I've known Margaret for several years and always love working with her. The final project, a foot warmer, is in progress. Here's a sneek peek.

Tudy's Craft Cupboard: April 2015
http://tudyscraftcupboard.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Here are the last 10 doll quilts I made for the Giving Doll. I really love making them and just picturing the faces of kids when they receive the doll and quilt in a tote bag. I love all the different fabrics they have for me to use also. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. This beef and veggie crock pot soup is our lunch today. We just add what ever we want to the pot. Good for a chilly spring day. Monday, April 20, 2015. Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: June 2011
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Picking Batik Quilt Blocks. This, too, shall pass. Because the quilt is as much about color value as it is about the color itself, I can't just throw the blocks together willy-nilly. I did find that I was able to butt the two quilts up next to each other, side-by-side and that looked fine. What I need to do now is determine how to lay out two more rows on the bottom. I made three copies of the quilt layout from the instructions and started taping. This, too, shall also pass.
Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: Convention Dress - Part 2
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2011/09/convention-dress-part-2.html
Saturday, September 10, 2011. Convention Dress - Part 2. Sketchy look in the front design; Asian water garden look in the back design. In addition to printing out vellum templates of the designs that I ultimately used, I also printed out templates of the other set as well. Here are some samples of the second main set of designs from the collection, laid out on the muslin. Potential front bodice layout from Asian Set. Another possible design layout from Asian Set. Bodice on the dress form. With the decisi...

Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: March 2011
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. No sewing happened yesterday. Taxes happened yesterday. Our accountant's office is about an hour away, so most of the day wound up being devoted to that. Ugh! On a more positive note, I did get Windows 7, Parallels, 4D Suite and Electric Quilt 7 all installed on my Mac. It was easy breezy. And they all work! I decided to devote at least some of today to starting the quilt. Or not. First load of batiks. Washed and ironed batiks, ready for cutting. Posted by Susan Pfaff. I've been...
Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: Needin' Some Summer Clothes
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2011/07/needin-some-summer-clothes.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. Needin' Some Summer Clothes. Since the weatherman says that it's supposed to be in the 90s the next few days, I decided that it was about time that I made some new summer clothes. One of the patterns that I bought in anticipation of the Palmer/Pletsch Fit-A-Thon in February was this for these simple capri pants. Capri pants for summer. Somebody needed a large swatch of this fabric. So I did a trial layout of the pattern. Yup, plenty of fabric for the capris. Posted by Susan Pfaff.

Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: May 2011

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Blocks 5 and 6 of the Enduring Elegance quilt are finished, except for trimming them to 12 1/2" square and rinsing out the blue marks. Once the embroidery was complete on each block, despite the challenges of the day, I was pretty happy with the way they turned out. There's a 6/8 (for six or eight evenly spaced designs) and a 5/7 (five or seven designs). They are a wonderful aid for embroidery placement! Posted by Susan Pfaff. Leave a comment. 2 comments so far. Adventures in Gourmet Sewing: Convention Dress - Part 3
http://gourmetsewing.blogspot.com/2011/09/convention-dress-part-3.html
Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Convention Dress - Part 3. Back to the dress. To illustrate what I mean about the Sketchy designs I did a screen capture of the original design that I used on the top of the bodice. Design was rotated 45 degrees left and used on the center top of the bodice. And a close-up of the area where I edited out a segment for use in other parts of the dress. I split the design by the red arrow. The designs available for use on the skirt! Posted by Susan Pfaff. View my complete profile.
