The Meandering Gypsy: October 2009
http://themeanderingypsy.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 19, 2009. My amateur drawing skills. Obviously not a drawing but a nice view of the ocean from one of the many buildings of the school. It reminds me of something very Mediterranean! El Muelle Vergara: an old abandoned pier in Viña. Our assignment was to explore and draw lugares disponibles, that is, sites that are no longer in use. An abandoned hillside in Valpo al lado de la ascensor Cordillera. Cerro Cordillera. We had another chance to do it thankfully and my professor even praised it!

The Meandering Gypsy: November 2008
http://themeanderingypsy.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Assuming he wins tonight, because if he doesn't we are in major trouble! Monday, November 3, 2008. I have found that architecture and spanish do not directly relate. However, I am determined to make them meet. I will go to Chile next year to study architecture in my 8th year of undergraduate studies. There I plan on discovering how the language of building and the language of the Hispanic world merge. I am thoroughly excited. . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Meandering Gypsy: December 2008
http://themeanderingypsy.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 11, 2008. I am getting increasingly excited about going to Chile next year! And so I await the time when I can learn even more about myself in the context of another place and time in Valparaiso. Next semester I will hopefully be building outdoor structures out of recycled materials in a design/ build studio which I am also looking forward to. I guess my excitement will have to be put on the back burner until the time comes when I can fly away! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Beautiful fog and mountains heading into Santiago. The amazing Contreras family! Celebrating numerous birthdays at once. Nuestro almuerzo cooked on a grill, Chicken and Chorizo like sausage. Lovely view of the little town the celebration was held, outside of Viña del Mar. Marcela y Tatty (she says her forehead looks big in this photo:).

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Policia en la Isla Mocha. Trailing Max the "whale" in our closing ceremonies of la obra and our time on the island. Loading goods from the mainland to la mocha. In Tirua, the small fishing village closest to the island. Government building in Santiago. In September, Santiago is purely Chilean :). The awesome hostel we staid at in the capitol, highly recommended! Encima del cerro Santa Lucia. Through Santiago's awful smog. View from Pablo Neruda's house in Valparaiso. These firs...

The Meandering Gypsy: July 2010

Thursday, July 1, 2010. This is the link to this awesome training center designed in France. It doesn't even necesarily matter what the function is but the connection between earth and structure is so beautiful to me. This post has become rather long and rambling but I felt compelled to write since I hadn't in awhile. More to come. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Glad Nomad- mom's blog. View my complete profile.

The Meandering Gypsy: January 2009
http://themeanderingypsy.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2009. Architecture over Winter break. An awesome barn in upstate New York. The Gropius House in Lincoln, MA. I like Gropius's philosophies a lot but he's not the best designer. I visited this house years ago in high school. Mack Scogin is a pretty cool. I found him a very laid back guy when he came to lecture at UK last year. This is the new student center at Wellesley College. I went to high school down the street from the campus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Friday, June 12, 2009. These are some photos of my recent trip to the Santa Barbara area to visit my mom. . The Banyan tree is like the tree of life! I really enjoy missions. When I was a lot younger my parents and I took a trip up the California coast from San Diego stopping at missions along the way. This is the Santa Barbara Mission. We may have visited it but I don't remember. There is something very, very peaceful about them. . I am leaving for Chile in two months!
