The Adventures of Joe and Michelle. Sunday, August 19, 2007. Mt Fernow and Seven Fingered Jack. Michelle and I spent my birthday weekend in the Entiat Mountains of Washington. There are three 9,000-foot peaks in a row (there are only 9 total in Washington) - Mt. Fernow, Seven Fingered Jack, and Mt. Maude. Our goal was to bag all three, but rain on Sunday kept us from getting up Mt. Maude. We hiked in Friday evening to high camp at 5,600 feet. Glacier Peak , Chiwawa Mountain, and Red Mountain to the West.

The Adventures of Joe and Michelle. Monday, August 10, 2009. Vesper Peak - North Ridge and Green Giant Buttress. This last weekend we decided to leave beautiful sunny EWA. And venture to the solar-challenged side of the mountains. Michelle has always wanted to climb Green Giant Buttress near Darrington. So we thought we'd combine it with a little alpine experience on Vesper Peak, taking advantage of the little climbing mecca along the Mountain Loop Highway. We got a few breaks and then our hopes went up!
