The Gulf Association actively encourages students and others to explore the Gulf River. Over the last few years students from Cohasset High School have monitored the quality of the river water. Starting in 2011, The Gulf Association is sponsoring two $500 scholarships a year for graduating seniors at Cohasset and Scituate High Schools. The scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated a long term interest in environmental studies. Cohasset Center for Student Coastal Research.
