http://blog.migol.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
A Timeline of Sorts about astro photography. Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Planning to burn through some Acros and E200 during GSSP 2016. This should allow me to run through a roll each night, planning on shooting at F5.6 for 40 minutes. The apparatus shown above weighs 33.5 lbs. Just slightly overweight for the GM8. Experiencing L(n)ight: Scanner Frustrations
http://blog.migol.com/2016/09/scanner-frustrations.html
A Timeline of Sorts about astro photography. Wednesday, September 28, 2016. The scanner complained again yesterday while finishing up another film strip. I will speak with an FAE later today. My first thought is to skip the film astrophotography at Calstar this year out of frustration. I realize that this is just a temporary setback and it's better to use the film rather than waiting until next year. I can always leave it in a binder until I'm able to scan again. Experiencing L(n)ight: July 2016
http://blog.migol.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
A Timeline of Sorts about astro photography. Monday, July 11, 2016. One E200 from GSSP 2016. NGC7000: 40 minutes at F5.6. 400mm EDIF. No push in processing. I got the color rolls developed at the Darkroom last week. On the preview of the E200, I see that the film looks good. Exposures could have been better, but if longer, the stars would have bloated more. This frame was from Friday night. I have a new batch of Xtol to mix up and will see how the black and white looks. A Timeline of Sorts about astro photography. Monday, March 23, 2015. Cable and Power Setup with QSI Camera. As mentioned in earlier posts, I'm now using a QSI 683 WSG camera for the main astrophotography work. In order to fully use the capabilities of the camera and mount control, I also installed the Feathertouch FocusBoss II motor. A closeup of the Powerpole distribution block. The wide view of the scope assembly. Note the eyelet routing the cables at the base of the QSI camera. Links to this post.

A Timeline of Sorts about astro photography. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Post-Calstar 2014 Wrapup: Thursday. My Thursday at Calstar was . a bit challenging. While it was great to learn to use the bow that Carl brought (no pictures of me doing this as far as I know) and having the clouds meant little heat from the late summer sun, there was not a lot going on. The day was overcast in the morning and didn't break up until later in the afternoon. Links to this post. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The deer were...

Stellar Neophyte Astronomy Blog. My learn-by-doing astronomy and astrophotography blog and observing journal. Friday, November 7, 2014. Download and Install EOS Utility Without CD on Windows 8. I want to use Canon EOS Utility with my Canon T5i, but my laptop doesn't have a CD drive - so even though I have the CD to install EOS Utility in hand, I can't get it onto my computer! Luckily there is a work-around that I found online. Was super helpful ( there's also one for OSX. Download and open the ZIP file.
