Mothers For Choice Aotearoa NZ. Thursday, September 27, 2012. International Day for the Decriminalisation of Abortion. Dear Sue and the Labour Women's Caucus,. I'm Nikki and I'm a (relatively) young mother who would like to see our rubbish abortion laws reformed. I love my daughter (who is now 7) very much but I'd be lying if I said that our abortion laws didn't influence my decision to continue my unplanned pregnancy at 19. Thankfully the worst one has vacated the country and moved to Texas. And whi...

Friday, April 10, 2015. Seeing the signs - the switched-on analysis brain. I realised I had 'analysis brain' a few weekends ago as I was driving back from a day of interviewing participants. Being a Sunday afternoon, the offerings on National radio were more entertainment than current affairs, but something must have caught my attention. Perhaps it was the mention of Facebook? Currently I'm immersed in transcribing. I'm actively looking for themes instead of tripping over them. It's a laborious y...Profe...

I suspect that I am also becoming more comfortable with the distractions that I choose and life puts my way. I am better at playing with distractions and being in the moment. Links to this post. Mothers For Choice Aotearoa NZ. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Herald: Women feel wait for abortion too long. Article in the Herald earlier this week. Women are waiting nearly a month on average to get an abortion - and they feel that is too long, research by Auckland University has found. Friday, June 24, 2011. NZ Media asking for it. Well, asking for a blog post. It occurs to me that Tracey Barnett is a complete twit. Her latest column at the Herald is titled "SlutWalk confuses rape message". Ok, so first of all, it should be an anti-rape message. And no, SlutWalk isn't that hard to comprehend. If you dress like a slut, you'll get raped. Just by being out in town "dressed like a slut" (which is what, exactly? A combination of the above? You set yourself up as a target for rape. So yeah, ...

Don't know how to deal with this. Will turn to women's magazines for advice. Friday, April 1, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
