How to Find Us. The Hawthorns is a most attractive Country House designed and built by the first Provost of Galashiels and set in 8 acres of gardens and grounds. The former Coach House now completely renovated provides a modern wing with superb views from the balcony over looking a beautiful walled garden and down the course of the River Tweed to Abbotsford the Home of the famous Scottish author and poet Sir Walter Scott.
