Life in the Big Cedars: Sweet Teeth
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2010/06/sweet-teeth.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Saturday, June 12, 2010. Well we have officially failed as parents. Grace has THREE cavities. She has been complaining about her back tooth hurting when she eats candy or drinks something cold. I thought she had a dental visit already scheduled coming up this summer but when I searched my calendar for it nothing came up. He said if she was 16 he'd just cap them or crown them but since she has lots more growing and tooth development ahead he'd just fill them as needed. So, that mea...

Life in the Big Cedars: Bad Hair Day
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2011/11/bad-hair-day.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Saturday, November 5, 2011. Today was not a good hair day. I've a had a few of them this week. Every so often I think, "Dang, why does my hair look like crap? Then I remember it's likely because I haven't had my hair cut in six months. Yeah, that usually does it. I'm not sure how a kid with hair as cute as the above pic could end up looking like this. But I blame it on the old lady hair dresser my mom used to take me to. Her and Dorothy Hamill. Clearly, growing my hair out . a...

Life in the Big Cedars: Read Me A Story
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012/06/read-me-story.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Saturday, June 9, 2012. Read Me A Story. At the risk of being too stinkin' cute, I had to share these pics of Grace and Rosie. Grace brought her into her room one night (a feat in itself because Rosie still likes her little bed in the garage much more than inside). Undeterred, Grace decided she was going to read to her. I'd say it was a success all around. Feel free to comment :). Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Born and rai...

Life in the Big Cedars: Meat & Cheese Pie
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012/06/meat-cheese-pie.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Friday, June 29, 2012. Meat and Cheese Pie. Bryon brought home this awesome recipe last week, and I made it up for dinner. I doubled the recipe and it made three quiche-like meat and cheese pies. Bryon won't eat quiche, but he liked this a lot. I froze the other two. Try it if you like.we did! Meat and Cheese Pie. 1 lb ground beef. 2 Tbsp. flour. 1 small can corn (drained). 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded. 3/4 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded. 1/3 cup green onions, thinly sliced.

Life in the Big Cedars: January 2012
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I've been thinking about cursing lately. I have to say I sort of like it. I know that's not what you expected to hear. I've heard Bryon tell people before that I don't curse very much. He is not, however, inside my head. I curse. A lot. Dang and Gee Whiz just don't cut the mustard. Bryon and I told all our friends and family that the first person to teach Grace a curse word had to pay for her college education. I blame it on our previously demonic an...

Life in the Big Cedars: April 2012
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Well the good news is no mange. The bad news is she does have a spectacular case of ear mites and tape worms. Luckily they can both be treated but she won't be getting many snuggles and NO kisses for the next three weeks until the medicine has time to work its magic. On second thought, maybe I do need to give her some kisses. Perhaps I could benefit from a tape worm. Nothing else is working. So far, so good. Sunday, April 15, 2012. I found a recipe for rad...

Life in the Big Cedars: The Boy Who Cried Woof
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012/06/boy-who-cried-woof.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Tuesday, June 12, 2012. The Boy Who Cried Woof. Following is the world premiere of Grace's first short work of fiction on her new (my old) laptop. I only helped her with the correction of the words that Word indicated were misspelled or not grammatically correct because she asked for explanation of the squiggly lines underneath them. She did all the rest. She was very pleased that it was 90 words (including the title). I think the word counter is her favorite Word feature. I did n...

Life in the Big Cedars: Silver Dollar City Day
http://medley3.blogspot.com/2012/06/silver-dollar-city-day.html
Life in the Big Cedars. Monday, June 11, 2012. Silver Dollar City Day. Last week I took Grace and her BFF to Silver Dollar City. For one briefly insane moment there, I had a third seven year old lined up to go with us. I'm pretty sure a third would have done me in. We burned that place down. At one point, the ride operator of the Electro Glide told us we should just go to the measuring station and get her a wristband so she wouldn't have to be measured every time since she was "All Ride" height. Cool...

Gavin's Voice: April 2011
http://gavins-voice.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
For someone who can't even talk, Gavin has certainly taught us many valuable lessons. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. A couple of days ago a friend. Posted the following video on her FB page. She warned us to grab some tissue before we watched it. I didn't follow her advice, but I wished that I had when I had tears rolling down my face! They were mostly tears of joy, but some filled with sadness as well. Pause music on the right-hand sidebar of this blog to hear video! I long for Gavin to have such ability!
