As the eye seeks the light, as our body craves for food, so our mind is impressed with the natural desire of knowing the truth of God and the causes of what we observe." - Origen. Thursday, April 1, 2010. Here are some recent pics of Eli. Here we are at Disneyland. We met Nana and Papa there. His favorite ride seems to be the carousel right now. We had a lot of fun. We also went to the Long Beach Aquarium. He loved the jellyfish exhibit. And he made friends with a diver. Eli loved the fish petting zoo.

As the eye seeks the light, as our body craves for food, so our mind is impressed with the natural desire of knowing the truth of God and the causes of what we observe." - Origen. Tuesday, January 19, 2010. We took Eli to the snow for the first time last weekend. My family rents this cabin up in Blue Jay every year and this year was Eli's first. I know I am totally biased, but isn't this the cutest kid you've ever seen? The last picture is in the cabin when Eli tried to kiss Michelle through a window.

So the next time you hear politicians' speeches and realize that after an hour of speaking, you cant remember a single thing that they said, remember that they are just fulfilling a centuries old American tradition. http://wakebird.blogspot.com/2008/02/xp-seminar-day-one.html

Wednesday, February 06, 2008. XP Seminar Day One. I'm at the XP Seminar in Dallas today. It's pretty good so far. I'm definitely on the younger end of the spectrum for this group, but there are a bunch of people in their 30s here so I'm not super out of place. They all dress a bit more conservatively than I would prefer, but hey, whatever floats your boat. We are hanging out with Jonathon and Mark Matlock tonight which should be fun. More riveting XP Seminar info to come. Tustin, California, United States.

An Acrobat's Search: Valentine's Dinner

http://wakebird.blogspot.com/2008/02/valentines-dinner.html

Friday, February 15, 2008. I took Bea out to French 75 Bistro in the Marketplace last night. It was a tasty meal. I haven't been in love with this place in the past, but it was very good last night. It was a fixed price menu with some options. First, after we sat down they brought us an appetizer of a tasty cream with raw salmon and caviar on an endive leaf. For the main course, Bea had a filet. I had braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans and carrots. It was very tasty. Cooking Shows Ma...

Monday, February 18, 2008. Top Ten Leadership Mistakes. I found this post on Tim Steven's blog. I think it has some great stuff. Top Ten Leadership Mistakes by Tony Morgan. Tony delivered a content-rich talk to open the Church Solutions Conference. Here are my notes from his talk about the top ten leadership mistakes he has made:. 1 Hiring Too Fast. Firing Too Slow. Thursday, February 14, 2008. Cooking Shows Make Me Hungry. Ella is sleeping and I'm relaxing for a bit and I'm watching my new favorite cooking show called Jamie at Home with Jamie Oliver who I have loved since his Naked Chef days. But whenever I'm watching these shows I get starving and I want to cook something fancy. I'm taking Bea to French 75 for dinner tonight. It's what she wanted and I'm very excited to take her there. What cooking shows are your favorites? I'm the same way! Stuff I Care About.

Monday, February 11, 2008. In no way am I saying I agree with everything in this post, but I do resonate with it somehow. It's by Francis Schaeffer's son, Frank. It's called Why I Am Pro-Life and Pro-Obama. Not just abortion, but war, death penalty, helping poverty issues, gun control, etc. One major difference is that those people either volunteered to be in the military and fight for our country or committed a major crime of murder, rape, etc. What do you think? Saturday, February 09, 2008. So yesterday at work I wrote a hand-written card of appreciation to a co-worker that I don't really hang out with outside of work or even at work that much. I want to start writing handwritten letters to people. I just think they are cool and special somehow. What do you think? Wanna be my pen pal? Chris tweedy's wife susan said. Sunday, February 10, 2008. I say, "It's OK, let's keep going. It's cool." So then the elder sits down next to Bill and he was awesome. He puts his arm around him and starts talking with him and is able to help Bill listen without being "too" disruptive. I also see one our church psychologists move up into a position pretty close to the man at this point. Remember, I'm still trying to preach. What did you think? http://wakebird.blogspot.com/2008/02/quirky-stuff-from-week.html

Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Quirky Stuff from The Week. Bad Week for Priorities - after a Florida woman was pulled over allegedly with a 24-pack of beer strapped into a seat belt, so it wouldn't be jostled, while a 16-month-old girl was unrestrained in the back seat. Good Week for Unarmed Conflict - after several Israeli soldiers were caught "mooning" Palestinians in the West Bank in an effort to chase them away from a disputed area. Sniffing out social history in the Eighteenth Century. The creation of knowledge; or, the ramblings of a mad woman…. July 15, 2015. It is relevant, however, to the topic of today’s blog post because I want to talk about the ‘creation of knowledge’. March 23, 2010} The Economics of Accessability. In the my first months at the NCC I have been so caught up in the excitement of the fusion of history and theater, that it was hard to problembitize it. With my niffty intern pass giving me access to all this amazing work it was easy to forget that people do generally have to. To access these things. So how accessable is museum theater really making history, if it’s still housed in venues that are to expensive for many to access? Museums who incorporate the...
