Tuesday, February 4. Just a few hours left to buy an original graveyard cross from Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE (1979). A supposedly original three-foot tall cross from the graveyard scene in Lucio Fulci's Zombie. 1979) is ending in about fifteen hours over on Yahoo! Auctions Japan ( auction link here. The translation is rough, but it states the cross was one of four obtained from the film's prop master, who also worked on The Gates of Hell. Paura nella città dei morti viventi. Of course, with a non-returnable "...

Basement of Ghoulish Decadence: Phantasm Ravager (2016), The Biggest "F*ck You" in Horror History?
http://www.ghoulishbasement.com/2016/10/phantasm-ravager-2016-biggest-fck-you.html
Wednesday, October 5. Phantasm Ravager (2016), The Biggest "F*ck You" in Horror History? SPOILER WARNING, don't think I'll be able to talk about the film without spoiling key points, beware. Flat out, the fifth and presumably final entry in Don Coscarelli's epic Phantasm. Reggie ( Reggie Bannister. And Jody ( Bill Thornbury. 1988) alone will forever defy all kinds of conventional film business logic. Although it probably would have been a good idea to launch a phantasmic crowdfunding effort a few yea...

Death Blog: The Blog That Eats People!: 1986, A Year in Movies
http://deathblogtheblogthateatspeople.blogspot.com/2013/09/1986-year-in-movies.html
Monday, September 9, 2013. 1986, A Year in Movies. Good afternoon kiddies. You're probably wondering why I'm choosing to highlight such a random year. Well, seeing as how today is my birthday, I felt like taking a look at all the horror from the year I was born would be a crackin' good idea. So let's get to it! Ah 1986, what an event-filled year; Halley's Comet granted us a visit, the Challenger space shuttle exploded on take, America become obsessed with Africa thanks to a boring Robert Redford movie.

Death Blog: The Blog That Eats People!: JP "Silly Tattoo" Wendel Presents Master of Horror Part 1: Cigarette Burns
http://deathblogtheblogthateatspeople.blogspot.com/2011/01/jp-silly-tattoo-wendel-presents-master.html
Sunday, January 16, 2011. JP "Silly Tattoo" Wendel Presents Master of Horror Part 1: Cigarette Burns. The first, and in my opinion one of the best, episodes of the first season of Starz Masters of Horror follows a young fella named Kirby who finds and delivers rare films to collector's for a living. He's on the bad side of bankruptcy and owes $200,000 to his ex-father-in-law when he decides to take one last job for an eccentric(is there any other kind? Le Fin Absolue du Monde. And Kirby ends up crushing ...

Death Blog: The Blog That Eats People!: JP Straps on His Hazmat Suit For a Review of Philosophy of a Knife!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. JP Straps on His Hazmat Suit For a Review of Philosophy of a Knife! Well, "docu-drama" is being nice. Pretentious, vaguely-historical torture porn exploitation may be a better genre title. I guess in it's very best moments it tries. That being said, it does have some things going for it during it's four hour(! So I don't really know if this film is a fair representation of his style, but I do know that after wasting four hours of my precious time on this thing I'd love to meet ...

Death Blog: The Blog That Eats People!: The Pyramid - Sorely Lacking a Point
http://deathblogtheblogthateatspeople.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-pyramid-sorely-lacking-point.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The Pyramid - Sorely Lacking a Point. Hey, you know what really grinds my gears? Either all in or all out, because the audience can sense you're trepidation and half-assery. That's similar to the face I had while watching. She's missing the slight drunken glaze that fell over my eyes about half-way through. A half-assed gimmick of a film that really couldn't have been saved regardless, I give The Pyramid 3 out of 10 of those gross hairless cats. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, July 24, 2015. Creepshow Documentary on IndieGoGo! You know those feature-length retrospective making-of Docs that are so popular right now, like Never Sleep Again about the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise or either of the Friday the 13th series docs? Death Blog: The Blog That Eats People!: The Triangle is the Most Sturdy Shape in Geometry. JP Doesn't Have a Joke for That, It's Just a Fact
http://deathblogtheblogthateatspeople.blogspot.com/2011/10/triangle-is-most-sturdy-shape-in.html
Sunday, October 2, 2011. The Triangle is the Most Sturdy Shape in Geometry. JP Doesn't Have a Joke for That, It's Just a Fact. I think I'm just going to go ahead and say it, I think Christopher Smith is one of, if not the best, director to grace the horror genre with his presence in the past two decades. With only four films under his belt, he has proven to be thought-provoking, creative, and wholly original seemingly without even trying, and Triangle proves all my points. Hi there, Im the creator of bel...
