http://bitliterate.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. I know this isn't video game related. I'm cross posting this with my other blogs. December 1st is also known as World AIDS Day. Whether it be through our behaviour, our friends, loved ones, heroes, even just images from half a world away, we are all affected by this. I am HIV Negative and I understand that I am lucky. What's the hardest part about having AIDS? Convincing your mother that you're Haitian. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Chrono Causality And Chrono Consistency.

A Muddy Bike: March 2012
http://muddybike.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Just my random thoughts on cycling in Ottawa. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Cleaning up Winter's Worst. Spring has arrived in force here in Ottawa. A little over a week ago our family was heading out for vacation in a light snow. When we returned home after a lovely week away, there was no snow on the ground and day time temps were in the 20's. Perfect spring weather has arrived and bikes were being pulled from winter storage. Partially inspired by Kathleen Wilker's Blog Post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://muddybike.blogspot.com/2014/04/false-sense-of-security.html
Just my random thoughts on cycling in Ottawa. Monday, April 7, 2014. False Sense of Security. This morning this Tweet appeared in my Twitter Feed:. Why would you prefer a narrow bike lane to sharrows on St Patrick? 8212; VanierCycles (@VanierCycles) April 6, 2014. After several replies and a bit of "lively" debate, this response:. Based on those points, wouldn't it be the 0.9m bike lane that gives the false sense of security? 8212; Charles A-M (@Centretowner) April 6, 2014. Pdf) Less then two years ago.

A Muddy Bike: The Value of Sharrows...
http://muddybike.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-value-of-sharrows.html
Just my random thoughts on cycling in Ottawa. Saturday, April 19, 2014. The Value of Sharrows. Sharrows (pictured below) are newish road markings. A bicycle stencil beneath double chevrons. They are meant to convey several messages to all road users. These messages can be broadly grouped under: "Bikes Belong". Sharrow on Bank St. bridge over the Rideau. To the motorist the messages are: "Bikes Belong" here, in the lane. Slow down, be patient. So the million dollar question: do they work? Is still mostly ...

A Muddy Bike: February 2012
http://muddybike.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Just my random thoughts on cycling in Ottawa. Thursday, February 16, 2012. What to Wear for Winter Cycling. Winter in Ottawa has made the slow inevatable turn to longer days and better weather. Still, the roads look like this:. Tempratures are warming, but still near or below zero. There is ice, slush and puddles every where, the roads are still narrowed and the edges are the sketchest parts. It is no wonder that many people park their bike in November and maybe think of it again in April, or May. Picture...

A Muddy Bike: Bike Lanes Everywhere!
http://muddybike.blogspot.com/2014/03/bike-lanes-everywhere.html
Just my random thoughts on cycling in Ottawa. Monday, March 31, 2014. Well, maybe not everywhere. I've been working on this post for a while now. It started when I tweeted a link to a video explaining " Protected Intersections for Cyclists. A novel (well not really, more on that in a bit) way of dealing with one of the most common complaints against Cycle Tracks in North America: What about the intersections? The reactions: "It can't be done in Ottawa, takes to much room.". Showing relative dangers to an...
