How to Print a Pattern from a Sketch | The Insouciant Stitcher
https://theinsouciantstitcher.wordpress.com/2015/07/12/how-to-print-a-pattern-from-a-sketch
How to Print a Pattern from a Sketch. Asymp; 9 Comments. But there are also other ways than drafting or buying to get your hands on a pattern. Online sketches, if they are in proportion and the garment is not too intricate, can be enlarged, and combined with elements from a TNT if necessary, to make a pattern. So I was rather delighted when some time ago I came across this page. So how do you do this? Save the picture of the sketch by right-clicking and selecting save from the menu. Measure the actual si...
Leaf Print, Version 2 | The Insouciant Stitcher
https://theinsouciantstitcher.wordpress.com/2015/03/16/leaf-print-version-2
Leaf Print, Version 2. Asymp; 3 Comments. You may remember the first version of this block print, done a couple of months ago. And another version of this motif, different colour and style. I think large print surfaces are unsuitable for block prints, because the ink application is uneven. Motifs that balance printed and unprinted areas are better. Next comes the way the single motifs are arranged. Random, different orientations, in rows horizontally or vertically, offset? I used the Tessuti fave top.

One More Time…. Asymp; 11 Comments. 8230; because it was so much fun. After my last silk wrap did not quite work out as I planned, I thought carefully about what might have gone wrong and I think I came up with a reasonable explanation. Once you know what went wrong, it’s not too hard to put it right. I did notice that a lot of dye washed out of that previous, unsuccessful wrap when I rinsed it, lending weight to the idea that there was not enough soda ash available to fix the dye into the fabric. A case...
The LBD – My Way | The Insouciant Stitcher
https://theinsouciantstitcher.wordpress.com/2015/03/16/the-lbd-my-way
The LBD – My Way. Asymp; 7 Comments. On my last trip to Germany I had picked up a sinfully expensive silk charmeuse print in one of their wonderful fabric markets, which seemed just the thing. But the charmeuse proved to be spectacularly uncooperative, and needed a pattern as simple as possible. Just straightening the cut edges was a bun fight, with the silk slithering all over the place and every touch distorting the grain. Grain? For a patterns I used the Tina Givens Phoebe pants. The East is Red | The Insouciant Stitcher
https://theinsouciantstitcher.wordpress.com/2015/07/19/the-east-is-red
The East is Red. Asymp; 9 Comments. Well, small exaggeration. I live on the east coast of Australia and I have made a red dress, but that is as far as it goes. I felt like trying a new pattern. This does not happen often, I have to say, I have a distinct leaning towards the TNTs. Just because a pattern has been made a dozen times does not mean that it can’t be made again. It’s just warming up nicely. But I had bought Vogue 9107. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Thoughts on “The East is Red”. Oh, I hope ...

It feels like I haven't posted in forever, though it's only been about two-and-a-half weeks. I have been busy busy busy at work, which keeps my mind in a very different space—it makes me. Like sewing, and my blog, is very far away, even if that's not really true. For an event that was held on the eve of the summit.

Mishaps and mayhem of quin and quin. Varkala was all about maxin n relaxin. and eatin. and bronzin. and wrecking mopeds. and reuniting with our favorite new zealander. great last days. DJ's same same (but different). The locals in varkala have an obsession. With tracey chapman and bob marley. we had to make some changes. we mixed it up with hall and oates, the beach boys, too short, and benny sings (haw). dj's same same quin-n-quin were a hit i think. My adorable friend H arrived at Bible Study one week wearing a chambray top over a loose flouncy skirt and paired with boots. I gushed over the cuteness sharing that I have some spaghetti strap dresses I'd love to make work appropriate in a similar way. She encouraged me to try it and I finally did! Asymp; 19 Comments. As it happened I had a striped interlock in my stash and so of course I traced out the pattern and made my own version. I reviewed the pattern here. And below is the shape of the garment. You tuck in the pointy bits on the skirt, which makes a sort of little pocket, although I don’t think it is very usable as such, and provided your fabric is reasonably drapey the skirt will collapse into soft folds. You can also let the points stick out, but I prefer them tucked in. Is something very...

June 02, 2015. How much money are you wasting on Illinois auto insurance right now? The overwhelming majority of drivers out on the open road today (in Illinois as well as all over the country, for that matter) are overspending on their auto insurance sometimes significantly. We are talking about millions of Americans spending 30% more on their auto insurance than they should be, and worst of all, most of them aren’t even aware of the fact that they are throwing money down the drain in the first place.
The Insourcing | Bringing jobs back to America
Bringing jobs back to America. I am the reason for the trade deficit. I purchase products manufactured in developing countries, resulting in profits from the products to replenish foreign economies, not mine. I fail to see the health risks involved in purchasing products made in developing countries. Irresistibly low prices cause me to make careless purchases, allowing millions of dangerous products to be imported into the US; lead painted toys and radioactive tissue box holders are among the few.
