The Interfaith Experience: March 2009

http://theinterfaithexperience.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Presented by the Temple of Understanding. Monday, March 9, 2009. Thanks to Kona and March program. A very special thanks to Kona Goulet for her wonderful talk to kickoff our "Faith and Finance" series. It made us think about: does the way we spend our money reflect our higher values? I'd recommend tracking your spending (to the penny) for one week and you'll be surprised where the money goes. Give it a try. Economic Turmoil and Financial Abundance". Andrew Wang, Senior Vice President. Where: new venue TBD.

The Interfaith Experience: Thanks to Everyone!

Presented by the Temple of Understanding. Sunday, October 25, 2009. Thanks to Katherine Miller for making our first event of our Food and Faith. Series a successful one. We're excited for the season ahead and hope you can join us next month (November 20th) for Jess Root. She’s learned and witnessed that Buddhist reflections such as these have trained her often lazy and scattered mind to slow down, reflect, and practice gratitude. This has influenced her consumer decisions for the better—m...Jess Root is ...

Outside the bubble: March 2010

http://beckybadger.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 29, 2010. No taste is worse than bad taste. I read something the other day saying that having no taste, or liking everything (in terms of music and movies and such) is worst than having bad taste. It worried me for what had to be a good whole two seconds before I realized I didn't really care, but it did get me thinking about things I dislike. So here, in no particular order, some things I dislike. 1) "Butterfly" by Crazytown or any other piece of crap song this crappy band made. 5) Renee Z...

Outside the bubble: December 2009

http://beckybadger.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 17, 2009. Apparently I wrote this poem my junior year of high school in my creative writing course. For some reason the only poetry I can write rhymes. It must be because of my childhood love of Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss (in fact my admissions essay for UW was bases on Green Eggs and Ham). Anyways, I'm somewhat amused by this poem and hope you are too :). Suzie glanced at the clock. Ten minutes to eight. Bill had been due for their date. In his dad's Honda Accord. A look of disgust.

Outside the bubble: The Importance of Lifetime Movies

http://beckybadger.blogspot.com/2010/04/love-letter-to-lifetime.html

Sunday, April 25, 2010. The Importance of Lifetime Movies. Many people make fun of me for watching Lifetime movies, but really I'm just looking out for myself. I've learned some very important lessons in safety and how to live my life. The following are just a few of the many things lifetime has taught me:. 1 Never get married - 9 times out of 10, whatever the crime may be, the husband did it. 3 Don't let your disability stop you - even a newly blind person can shot a gun and kill an escaped convict.

Friday, October 17, 2008. I have officially been in New York City for 4 whole weeks! Although I miss everyone a ton, I'm adjusting to life here pretty well. I have a bed of my own to sleep in and a full-time job that will hopefully get me a position in this year's Thanksgiving Day parade! The pictures attached to this post are of the happy fountain-swimming man, David Blaine's extremely lame "stunt" (seriously, is it even a stunt when you stop for coffee whenever you feel like it and sit up all the time?

The Interfaith Movement | Faith is What Brings us Together

Join TIME: How to Contribute. Faith is What Brings us Together. May 22, 2011 by thebagel. We all think we will live forever. The mundane nature of our everydays creates a dream world in our psyche where our life just goes on. But the interesting irony of life is the fact that the only thing guaranteed is death. We choose to give and take offense so casually that we forget entirely about the bigger picture and the teachings of our religious traditions. In Surah Baqarah (The Cow), verse 263, Allah states:.
